Yes, because unlike most candidates who profess their religious beliefs as a qualification for office a candidate who openly states that he/she is an atheist is an honest person.

. I might consider a vote for an atheist. Many politicians claim to be Christian or Catholic but what they say is not what they do. An atheist might be more honest than some who claim to be Christians. Is my only choice an atheist or a satanist? Then I would choose the atheist.

    Is my only choice:

    1. atheist with a history of honesty and concern for others, who is not owned be the 1%

    2. "Catholic" who is known for back room deals, drinking too much, three adulterous affairs. taking money from bail outs, been sited for unethical behavior.

    3. Muslim who has not shown he can make good decisions, can not speak without a teleprompter, is responsible for bailouts, housing failure, job loss and the continuation of war, and did not have the backbone to NOT sign NDAA into law. oh yes and is hiding something about his birth and his education.

    4. Mormon who is responsible for thousands loosing their jobs and homes while he is a multiple millionaire living it up and abusing the family dog, and Flip Flops on every issue to suit the audience so no one knows what he stands for. definitely owned by his peers the 1%.

An atheist with a good record might be the better choice.

I am happy that I still have the choice of a Christian with strong convection on insuring my freedom to live as I please, so long as others are allowed the same freedom. Who talks about things that make sense, about getting our country out of debt, and Christian enough to want to STOP killing unborn children, innocent people and seeing our soldiers die for no good reason except hidden agendas, and the military profiteers.

Source(s): Ron Paul is a Christian. He upholds the Constitution. The Constitution calls for separation of church and state. Ron Paul is your best choice to worship as you chose, or to not worship at all if you chose. He has some personal beliefs based in religion but this will not affect his decisions as president.

    Yea. Why not?

Religion shouldn't matter at all in an election. I would vote for a Satanist, as long as he would make a good president.

It is a sign of intelligence to think for oneself. Yes, I would as long as he was a decent person & would be a good President. I think President Obama grew up as a Christian & that is what is ingrained in him so it's his religion. I don't think he is dumb for it but I don't believe a religion is the highest way of thinking.

A person that does not base his life on superstition is to be preferred so of course.
