Type 1, insulin dependent diabetic - urgent help needed?

I have a problem. I have a cyst on my spleen which is causing excrutiating stabbing pains, made worse when I take even one mouthful of food! If I can keep it down for more than 20 minutes (which I cannot very often) the pain is constant. I can only take codeine phosphate at night because of the soporiphic effects. I am so weak as the cyst is making me extremely anaemic. As is usual with the NHS, I have to wait for a scan, then again to see a specialist, and then again for surgery.

What does anyone suggest if I really cannot eat. I am continuing with my insulin, but it is not very effective. Not had a hypo for about two weeks - and I usually get them daily!

If I go to my local walk in centre they just say that I should go back to see my GP as it is an on-going problem.

Tried to contact the dietician but of course she is on annual leave.

I am sick of being sick!

Any sensible advice would be most welcome. Thank you. Please just not suggestions to go back to the GP. To get an appointment with a GP (always a different one) I have to be 2 miles across town by 8am - and most of them do not seem to know anything about diabetes, and there are no buses, so it is shanks pony for me - on a very poorly, arthritic hip and no food!

Update:

John, you have obviously not read my question properly. I refer you to paragraph one - I cannot keep food down! So 15 grams of carbs coz to get carbs you have to eat, is out of the question. Constant vomiting is not good and is extremely painful and draining physically. I believe that is why my sugars are not going down very well and I have recently increased the insulin to try and counteract this.

I am not trashing the NHS, but I was trying to point out that at least 4 months of vomiting ahead is not going to do any good at all! It is a fact of life, we have to wait.

And there is no reason at all why you should slam me for being fed up with being ill! Generally I accept my diabetes and usually with humour, but when you cannot eat it bloody well hurts! Thanks for nothing.

don't know if any of this will help but its worth a try

The sick day plan should include the following:

check blood sugar levels every 4 hours

keep taking insulin and diabetes pills, even if vomiting

drink at least 8 ounces (.2 liters) of water or other calorie-free liquid every hour while awake

if not able to eat usual food, drink juices and eat crackers, popsicles, or soup

if unable to eat any food, drink ginger ale or any liquid with sugar

test urine for ketones if blood sugar is over 250 milligrams or if unable to keep food or liquids down

if you seem to be getting worse i would take a trip to the A&E department as no way should you have to wait around as this is putting your life in danger

Diabetes, also called diabetes mellitus, has become a very common heath problem. How to reverse diabetes naturally https://tr.im/VSmAq

There are two main types of diabetes- type 1 diabetes in which the body does not produce insulin and type 2 diabetes in which the body does not produce enough insulin or the insulin that is produced does not work properly.

Some of the common symptoms of diabetes include fatigue, weight loss (even though you are eating more), excessive thirst, increased urination, cut and bruises that are slow to heal and blurred vision.

While there is no cure for diabetes, with your blood sugar level under control you can live a totally normal life. There are various natural remedies for diabetes that will help you control your blood sugar level.

Maybe you should find a Doctor that will review your glucose logs and recalculate your TDD, bolus shot and ratios over the net or find a diabetic advisor that's closer to you. At a hospital, they would drop your TDD by 20% and recalculate the basal and the ratios whenever your glucose readings are below 80 mg/dl ( 4.4 mmol/L ) during the day. There's really no reason to be having a hypo every day unless your insulin regimen is out of whack.

We're all sick of our chronic illnesses and as serious as diabetes is, there are far worse that people deal with every day. To be frank, the diabetes is the lesser of my chronic illnesses, the other was supposed to have ended my life in two to five years for the past ten years. The thing is, chronic illnesses are not going to go away.

You should have a list of easy to eat 15 gram carbohydrate snacks on your sick day plan that had been approved by your Doctor. You try to take in 15 grams of carbs per hour if you can not stay on your regular meals and go with supplemental bolus shots.

Before you go on trashing national health, you should see the video from 60 minutes on what happens without national health ( The RAM link, RAM is an organization that provides medical assistance to third world countries and the US is now 60% of their business on their list of third world countries ). The hospital visit in the States where my diabetes was diagnosed costed over $30,000 or which the bill was still $6,000 after the insurance and over 23% of the population do not have insurance. Yes, when i was in the States, I could get an MRI on the very same day and I could see specialists at the drop of the hat but the medications was three times more expensive such that the after insurance price was the same as the price without insurance in Canada. If it comes to having to wait for the operation or not being able to afford the operation, which would you rather have.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.
