Can I breathe in through my mouth and out through my nose?

When doing breathing excersises either with mediation, hypnotherapy, etc, they always tell you to take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale through your mouth. It's easier for me to fall into the pattern of breathing in through mouth and out through my nose. Is there a difference?

Your nose hairs block tiny dust particles from getting into your lungs, and your nasal passage conditions air, which is why you are typically told to breathe in through your nose, so although it is better, it's not like breathing through your nose is going to kill you or anything
