Absolutely, and I strive every day to be less materialistic. Of course, I believe there is a huge gap between what I like to call a Luke-warm Christian and a true Christian that accounts for this as well.

It is world conditioning, all men and women are conditioned at birth to be materialistic. Part of being a Christian is working to break world conditioning and exchange it with WORD conditioning. Which no member has more or is greater than the other. All are equal in diffrent ways but equal. I may heal, you may be a prophet, others may have diverse tongues, some teacher, some apostles. Every member is diffrent but equally important. But people get slammed with the world and poverty; it becomes difficult to break the habit. Which is why we tithe and do charitable thing with the love our hearts, it helps break this conditioning. The trouble is teaching tithing without people thinking your a money grubbing jerk lol.

Those that promote the 'health and wealth' gospel contradict The Word of God.
Do Not Love the World
1 John 2:15-17 ; 15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For everything in the world--the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does--comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

It is human nature to be materialistic. It's not equated with Christianity, though some religions try to pin certain negative characteristics on others.
If you see it as a weakness, then opt to rise above it within yourself, and not judge others.
For it is hateful to judge and blame others, and they may pin that negative behavior on you.

No.
First, you have given no evidence for your claim.
Judging from your other posts, this does not surprise us.
However, we all hold out hope that someday you will support your platitudes.
Second, what makes you think they are? Because they believe in Jesus and have one more iPod than you do? You have a fancy computer, can spend hours on the internet, and are an atheist.
What does that prove?

Well the way the world works now we've grown up in a society that makes us only think of ourselves before anyone else. Christians need to remember why they are Christians.

Don't let a hypocrite make you go to hell. One sin leads to hell, Jesus offer forgiveness.
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[a] Christ Jesus our Lord.
If you follow Jesus puts your faith in Jesus.
Hebrews 12:2
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
