Jobs in the genetics field?

I've always been interested in genetics and was wondering what some really good jobs in that field are. I've been trying to look some up but I'm not really getting very good results. So, what are some jobs in the genetics/genomic field?

The areas that will give you the best paying most reliable jobs, are not surprisingly, those that have applied applications in private industry: i.e. medicine and agriculture. Look up medical genetics, plant breeding and animal breeding.

Bioinformaticians/computational biologists, and statistical geneticists are also in high demand.

Try searching specific companies and their job pages. Big-pharm (Sanofi-Pasteur, etc.) companies and Big-ag companies (Monsanto, Pioneer, Dow Agrosciences, Bayer, BASF).

Here's a list to work off of:

However, keep in mind that genetics is applied to pretty much ever field of biology these days - even if they do not identify as "geneticists," most biologists need some genetics training.

I labored interior the u . s . a . under an H1B visa for a number of inn companies: the two in sources/resorts and in company places of work. My diploma is in international inn administration, no longer IT. So do no longer provide up. yet you do want an sponsor offering you a job. you need to get a diploma in inn administration, then as scholar/ recent graduate you will get a J1 visa, then persist with for the H1B. After my H1B visa expired I had no decision yet leaving the u . s . a .. Years later I utilized for Canadian Residency enable, yet in Canada it is so stressful to discover a administration activity interior the inn industry. Canadian society is distinctive than the U. S., i think of Canadian employers could constantly provide a job to the Canadian till now the newly arrive PR card holder. in case you're unfastened interior the activity industry the U. S. is plenty much less complicated to discover a job interior the inn industry.

I know the historical context behind it is really off-putting, but I have a friend who's wanting to go into a job where he can research on eugenics. He's not the type of person to actually put it into practice, of course, but he queries a lot on if certain races are physically better at somethings than others (e.g. running) or if there really can be the "perfect human". It may have a racist side to it, but if you simply just research it and delve into whether a lot of it is true, I think it could be really interesting.

I'd never go into it though, my heart being with war history, but just a thought :)
