Should I paint my car's roof white?
I have a 2003 Crown Vic retired police car. The roof on it is all bubbly and rusty, and I want to repaint it. Now, my car is a funny shade of metallic that is hard to find because police use different paint codes. I'm wondering if I would get any comfort gain in the summer by painting the roof white, since white reflects heat, and white would be easier to find than my funny color.

Painting it white is definitely better than allowing it to continue rusting, so I would go for it if I were you.
White is very helpful in a hot climate and really will help especially if the existing color is a darker shade.

You should be able to get the proper paint code for the car and if not most paint suppliers can use a special camera that can identify the color you need
