Hunting seagulls legal in NY?

Having difficulty finding info on this. Can you hunt seagulls in NY state? Could not find anything on the DEC website. Does anyone know emphatically? Thanks!

    Seagulls are scavengers. Scavengers are FEDERALLY protected birds, it's not legal to hunt them anywhere in the USA.

    I can't imagine hunting seagulls would be legal anywhere in the USA. What would be the point?

    You can't kill seagulls anywhere... anytime

    Found that out when I lived in FLA and I hit one with a football on the beach in St. Petersburg and a lifeguard yelled at me; I didn't kill it but he said that they could fine me for just hitting one!

    and like I said, it's that way everywhere in the USA
