which college class should i take?
I could either take Spanish, which I already speak, and get a guaranteed A
Or I could take French and really have to work hard, possibly taking time away from my other classes .. although I do want to learn
should I get the A and learn in my own time, or take advantage of this as an opportunity to learn a new language?
Thanks!

Just because you already speak Spanish does not mean you will get an A in the course.
I'm a native Spanish speaker, and let me tell you that it is not easy to study it! You will have to take a placement test, and the higher you score, the higher the level course you will have to take. You may know how to speak it, but what about write and read it? Spanish, like learning any other language, is not easy.
I took Spanish course but because I wanted to become a better writer in it. I knew that just because I spoke, it didn't mean it was going to be an easy class for me. But honestly, I truly love the fact that I got to improve in my reading and writing skills in my native language.
I suggest truly studying the language you want to learn more about, whether that is French or Spanish. Don't study a language because you think you will get an easy A. If you don't challenge yourself, what will you learn?

As I remember. college is pretty darn expensive. Why not get your "money's worth" and LEARN something. Take French. With a Spanish background, you may find it easier than you think!
