Could there be 'dark horse' nominations from the floor of the 2012 political conventions?

The way things stands now Mitt Romney is gonna get beat worse than Barry Goldwater by the lowest voter turnout in history.

There just ain't anybody to attract and inspire the masses,

Both Romney and President Obama have a lock on their respective nominations.

Romney because he shook down his moneyed 'supporters' that owe him a favor and outspent his rivals.

President Obama because no Democrat has balls enough challenge his 'kingship'.

In 1980 Senator Ted Kennedy challenged incumbent President Jimmy Carter for the presidency and it proved to be an air clearing healthy experience for the Democratic party.

Surely a coalition of delegates from within both parties can field nominees to offer a choice.

I'd like to on November 2nd be able to make a choice between Republican Condoleeza Rice or Democrat Hillary Clinton or some other worthy slate of candidates than what we're now being offered.

There could be dark horse candidates, however once the party leadership has decided who they want as a candidate they will not be swayed by common sense.

more beneficial than likely, the Democratic nominee will likely be both Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. My prediction is that it is going to Hillary for Democratic presidential nominee, and that she will be sure on Obama because the Vice Presidential candidate. Obama may also be deemed to contemporary and eco-friendly to be the nominee. Hillary may also be deemed to have too much political "bags" to get the nod. the subsequent one 365 days will come to a decision it. Which one will blunder a lot less, or more beneficial? which will research the nomination truly.

Given your state's ballot possibilities you may be able to do so -- Write In the Candidate you favor

If the candidates have the number of delegates required for nomination, than no. When we had a dark horse is when nobody had the number of delegates needed. The convention would turn to an unknown that would then get the consensus of the convention.

On the Democratic side, I think Obama will get it since he hasn't had significant opposition in any of the primaries.

On the Republican side, Mitt Romney isn't close to having the required number, but with Rick Santorum dropping out, he may still get it. Anything could happen.
