Do you think this verse from the Holy Book is accurate?

But wo unto the rich, who are rich as to the things of the world. For because they are rich they despise the poor, and they persecute the meek, and their hearts are upon their treasures; wherefore, their treasure is their god. And behold, their treasure shall perish with them also.

Book of Mormon 2 Nephi 9:30

Update:

Jo Han, i believe you just called The Book of Mormon ignorant. The verse I posted did not say differentiate rich people, it simply referred to those who are rich as to the things of the world. Meaning those who have money.

particular, it relatively is precise. people who're wealthy yet despise the unfavourable and persucute the meek and set their hearts upon treasures will perish, and their treasure will perish with them additionally. It would not say something with regard to the wealthy that help the unfavourable and the meek, and the wealthy that don't set their hearts upon treasures - neither does the Bible say there is something incorrect with that. the affection of money is the inspiration of all evil, not money itself. Being wealthy isn't the subject, God supplies us the potential to acquire riches so we are able to apply those riches to feed the unfavourable, dress the bare, living house the homeless, and strengthen the dominion of God.

    Here's one:

    Leviticus 19:15

    New American Standard Bible (NASB)

15 ‘You shall do no injustice in judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor nor defer to the great, but you are to judge your neighbor fairly.

@Part Time Atheist... You're forgetting the billionaires Al Gore, Nanci Pelosi, millionaires like Barack Obama, et al Democrats. You're clueless if you think only Republican politicians are rich. Democrats are in bed with all the mega corporations. Just look at who their top campaign contributors are. Quite ignorant of you to make such a statement.

Anyway, yes to answer the question. Those who are rich and despise the poor will have their treasures perish in some way or another. However, not all rich people despise the poor. It would be just as ignorant as "Part Time Atheist" to make this assumption.
