Should I wear an ankle brace?

i sprained my left ankle 2x in thrree month. The first sprain was pretty server level 2 or 3. I never gave it any rest, I triple taped it tightly, took some advil and just walked it off. The first 3 days were painful. It was hurting till about 2 weeks ago and it felt weird. Today i happen to sprain it again, but nowhere as bad as last time. I was struggling to walk last time. This time i can walk with a limp. Should I start wearing ankle braces whenever I play basketball I've sprain my left ankle about 5 times total. Should i invest in ankle braces for my left ankle or for both ankles thanks.

Yes. You should at least wear high-top basketball shoes. I would definitely wear a brace as well if this is a persistent problem.

I sprained my ankle badly two years ago. I couldn't walk for a couple days, had a limp for about a week, and still felt pain if I was on my feet too much up to six months later. That ankle is still larger than the other to this day.

I got it checked out and I got an Air-Cast brace. The thing is bulky, it uncomfortably digs into my skin when I play, and I hate it. However, I would rather deal with a little discomfort than risk serious injury. I also imagine you could find something much more comfortable.

Ligaments and tendons heal and re-tighten themselves very slowly, so every time you hurt them, you are adding to the damage that was already done.

The best ankle brace is the Ultra Zoom. It has this cool soft shell technology that is really comfortable and supportive. www.ultraankle.com
