I broke my foot about 5 years ago and it still hurts. Why?

About 5 years ago I broke my foot near the ankle area. I had a boot put on and everything like normal. The thing is I am in pain every day 24/7. It is starting to take a toll on my other joints as well because of the way I have to walk. What should I do? Does anyone else have a problem like this?

Return to your doctor; ask for an assessment by an orthopedic surgeon. You may have osteoarthritis in your ankle joint, or have a piece of bone irritating the joint surface. Without seeing your x-ray, this is only speculation. 5 years is a long time to have pain.
