How Do I Duel Boot Windows 8 and Ubuntu?

I can't seam to find this any were so I will ask here.

I have Ubuntu 11.10 and would like to try out Windows 8. I have tried Virtual Box but it will not work, I have tried everything.

I made a DVD with the ISO from the Windows 8 website and burned it onto the disc. I put the disc in the computer, re-started it, and it loads fine. But after I chose my language and time, there is a big install button.

I don't want to format my original hard drive and I'm afraid if I click "Install" it won't let me partition/duel boot. Can someone tell me if it does this or how to partition in Ubuntu and then install there? Or maybe even how to duel boot?

Thanks.

There should be a custom or advance option inside the windows installer somewhere.

You should clear out some space for the partition first, and you'll need to re-install grub afterwards.

    Backup just in case anyways.

Dueling? Like with pistols? I know Microsoft and the open-source community didn't get along, but didn't realize it had gone that far. ;)

I haven't done this myself, but my understanding is that you'll first need to make sure you have a free partition big enough for Windows to fit on, separate from your Ubuntu partitions. Then you tell the Windows installer to install to that partition. The details might get hairy in terms of getting the multi-boot menu to work right, but you'll need to research that on Google.
