Can subutext or suboxone cause a false positive on a pregnancy test?

If it can then will you still get your period? Also, if it can cause a false positive then what are the odds that you actually are pregnant. All the pregnancy signs seem to be there but just need to make sure that the tests are correct and not just something else going on that I may need to see a doctor for. Please help! I need as much information as possible. Any links for information would also be appreciated if available. Thank you.

Update:

I am actually off of it now but was just wondering if it was still in my system and made my test a false positive. And no worries I absolutely refuse to have any unhealthy substances in my body when I am pregnant. This time we are hoping for a girl and we are so very excited.Thank you all so much for the information. It's a relief to hear it. :)

No, that drug cannot cause a false positive. Pregnancy tests ONLY turn positive in response to the Hcg hormone. They can also *appear* positive if they're examined after the 10-minute time limit

The only thing you can eat or drink that will cause a false positive would be Hcg (if you are on the Hcg diet, for instance).

    Suboxone And Pregnancy

No they wouldn't. Only the HCG hormone which is excreted by a developing fetus, can make a positive pregnancy test reading. If it says you are positive, you are pregnant.

you cant get false positives on home tests, your body only produces the hcg hormone when pregnant and no other time. you are pregnant. I suggest you speak to your keyworker immediately to try and get off subutext as this is a very bad start for a baby.

no, a pregnancy test is positive only if hcg is detected, which is from a developing baby or medicines that contai hcg.if you are infact pregnant and on suboxone, you need to tell your provider so they can switch you to subutex or methadone.iwas on suboxone and i switched to methadone when i found out i was pregnant. im 4 months pregnant with a very healthy baby. please talk with your doctor.

No it wouldn't... and it is rare, but you could get a "false" positive if you happened to get a faulty test. My advice, go to your family doctor and he can help you find out for sure. Good luck!!
