Check out the animated movie "Spirited Away", its a masterpiece thats exactly what you want. Girl transported to a magical land of spirits, forced to do manual labor, meets a prince charming, etc etc.
"Spice and Wolf" is another amazing "fairy tail" like anime. Story about an immortal wolf spirit in the form of a girl who falls in love with a traveling merchant. Touching romance, epic animation and visuals, great soundtrack, the shows easily a 5/5 imho.
Last one I got for ya is "Fate / Stay Night". Im actually still watching this one, and its kinda more action than fairy tail. But it does have wizards and knights who are competing for the holy grail, has a sweet romance, and definintly lots of fanasy elements.
