What does fair mean to you?
I don't mean like someones looks or some type of gathering, I'm talking about a "that isn't fair" situation. I'm trying to figure out why some people can do "good" and still fail, while other people can do "bad" and come out on top

fair denotes universal balance and compensation via cyclicity, rhythm, opposites, motion, order, sequence and causal relationships.
trying to understand it at the level of the everyday life of any specific individual, will drive you up a tree, similarly to trying to comprehend the overall motion of a bicycle by following the movement of one of its chain links partway around one of its sprockets.
in the end though, no detail is unfair. everybody gets exactly what they need and deserve. if you do not comprehend that, it does not mean life is unfair, it means that you haven't got the right point of view yet.
to help get it, stop relying on your senses as the origin of info about it. instead, assume that the universe does not make mistakes, and then adjust your perceptions accordingly. with practice, what you see with your eyes and discern with your intellect will take a turn toward greater sanity over the matter. and your anxiety will decrease, even if you didn't know you had any.

Hey chief, all that glitters is not gold; all castles are not secure.
Many things don't seem to be what they appear to be; a man may be able to buy the best foods on earth but cannot because his health disallows it. A man have a Ferrari and a Lamborghini in his garage but is unable to drive it himself. A man may have a mansion to sleep in but have no peace of mind because the stock market may tumble.
Every house have its problems and every man has his Moses.

Fair means everybody gets their 'just' reward...or...punishment. My reward is not in this life, it is in the life to come. The lost, unsaved man that gets along good here in this life....well, that's ALL the good he gets. After this life, it's eternal punishment. Everyone has good days and bad days in this life. Just as it rains on 'the just and the unjust'; so does the sun also shine on both, on occasion.

Your question only makes sense if we assume there is some force making the universe respond to our behavior with reward or punishment. Do you have some evidence that suggests we should make that assumption?

Fair is relative. Each situation is neither fair nor unfair until it is compared to the other.
