games with story similar to kingdom hearts?
so i just beat kingdom hearts 1 and 2 (ive also come close to beating chain of memories but not quite, yet ive seen the ending already) and i was looking for a game with a story simlar to that, or games like final fantasy 7:crisis core, FFX, etc. the part i fell in love with the most was how at the beginning and end they have that opening and ending (especially the ending) that just gets to you.
I want more "feel good" games like that. Any suggestions?
The consoles i have:
xbox 360
Wii
Gamecube
Playstation 2
FC Twin (both NES and SNES although it doesnt work well and yes im open to older games although i prefer newer 3D ones.)
games to leave out of suggestions:
Any FF games,
Zelda
any Metal Gear Solid
god of war series
any mario games
Assassins creed series
fable series
prototype
Ive played all of these^ and more but i cant remember the rest lol. try to suggest as many as possible! :D

I may suggest 3 series:
Persona (my personal favorite)
Xenosaga (my second favorite)
Star Ocean (my third favorite)
All 3 are for Playstation 2
They all have unique ideas, and they're all JRGPS like Kingdom Hearts.
Out of the series I would say:
Persona - I found Persona 3 to be the best one. Persona 3 FES has the original Persona 3 game and it also contains a sequel of what happens after the story. It's dark, and sad like Kingdom Hearts and has really deep characters. I has an ~amazing~ story, and the best music I've ever heard in my life. And unlike most games the end is NOT a letdown at all. I think it's end was incredible. I would recommend this the most of any game I've ever played. It's a turn-based game (the best turn-based system I've ever played, actually. Persona 4's combat system isn't near as good as Persona 3.)

Star Ocean- This one I would recommend the 3rd game as well. It is a futuristic JRPG that - like Kingdom Hearts - is made by Square Enix. It is an extremely long game. In fact, the game is so long that the creators of it had to give it a second disc. The story was incredible and the music wasn't bad. It's not as emotional as some RPGs, but it's still good. Although, I did think the end was a little bit of a letdown. But overall it's a really good game. It's a non turn-based game

Xenosaga- This one - like Kingdom Hearts - keeps the same characters throughout the series. I haven't played the entire series (I recently started the second game) but the first game was amazing.
The characters are well developed and it's a futuristic JRPG (like Star Ocean). It has a unique combat system (although a little harder to manage than Persona 3.... but Persona 3 was a harder game in general). It has really good music, too. It has an incredible story as well. It's a turn-based game.

Source(s): So I would REALLY recommend these series, specifically Persona 3 and Star Ocean 3, since I found them to be the best out of their series. I personally recommend Persona 3 the most of them. - Loser.Lv 49 years ago
Try EL SHADDIA. It's a JRPG for X360 with biblical influences and about the trippiest visuals in video gaming (besides Geometry Wars.. hehe..) but it has anime influences on graphics. It's a great game if that doesn't sound like your kind of game look it up; it's got great comedy and combat but it's not going to be like anything you've ever played; it's very original.
You might like the new PRINCE OF PERSIA game; it came out in 2008 (at least the last one I played). It's a platformer with some pretty cinematic combat and very interesting and original graphics.
If you like older games (like the early FF games: FF1-FF6) then CHRONO TRIGGER and the EARTHBOUND series can't be missed. These are probably the most well known and best love games from the early Nintendo era. Do some research on them, but beware, they are 2D and Earthbound games may be harder to find. Chrono Trigger I know is availible on Playstation (So it'd work with your PS2 if you had a PS1 memory card) although it was originally made for Super Nintendo I think. Besides the PS port there are also ports for the iPod touch/iPhone and Nintendo DS.
If you're into meaningful games, I'm going to let you on to one of my all time favorites, and one of the most celebrated games in history. SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS. The entire game is riding around on your horse trying to find the next boss; the only battles are with these absolutely gigantic bosses (of which there are 16). Killing them is more of a platforming game over action game at times and it requires a lot of thinking and experimenting to bring down the bad guys. The story, I won't even explain the beginning, is absolutely heartbreaking and yet amazing despite being fairly subtle. Visually, it's JRPG influenced but I don't remember if it's made by a Japanese company. It's for PS2, selling this game was harder for me than selling my old Playstation 2, I'm being completely honest.
In order of which I would recommend:
1) Shadow of the Colossus
2) Chrono Trigger (if you're into old games)
3) El Shaddia
4) Prince of Persia

the games you seem to be looking for are of the JRPG (japanese Role Playing Game) Genre, so try looking up jrpg's.
if you like RPG's, which are my favourite in general, I might suggest (if you like sorta dark games) the fallout series, Fallout 3 being my favourite.
also the elderscrolls. im sure you've heard of skyrim :P
feel good games are generally harder to find but general RPG's are abundant and i can name quite a few.
Skyrim
TES IV: Oblivion
Deus Ex: Human revolution ( now this game is kinda part movie, and has a rich awesome story)
Dragon Age 1&2
Stalker: clear skies & call of Pripyat (very... RP RPG's, you are dropped in with a vague idea of an objective)
need anymore suggestions just ask :)
