Have you ever bought your child a toy you wish you hadn't?
I just know I've already bought my daughter some toys that I wish I'd never even seen. One is a little laptop computer that plays games and is really too advanced for her. But she knows how to turn it on and play the music on it. The music will continue playing for 5 minutes while a squirrel encourages her to "Choose an activity!" over and over and over and over and over. She doesn't know how to do the activities, but she likes the music, and it drives me NUTS!!!! I bought it because she loves my computer so much, I thought she should have her own. But now I wish I'd never set eyes on this darn thing!
Any other stories of toys you wish your child DIDN'T have?
Oh, how I wish I could give more than one thumbs-up to some of these! The "frustrating" toys and the footkillers especially!

Yep....I bought my kids a little toy train that would run around while it played musical plastic discs.
The discs were bad enough, but my kids would take the discs out and leave the train running on its side, making an irritating chugging noise.
It went back to the store. :o)

Absolutely!!... I'm almost certain we are not alone in this and I'm sure this happens very frequently. My Son loves transformers, when we go to a toy store he wants transformer toys. The thing is transformer toys are are difficult to transform, as a matter of fact they come in levels; easy, medium and hard. Well, the problem is I bought him a small car that transform into optimus prime and each time he wants to tranform it into a car and vice versa I have to do it because he doesnt know how to.. I really wish I wouldnt have bought a $55 dollar car that I have to transform each time he plays with it...

The most hated toys that I bought are the Amazing Amy doll and the Playskool Talking Grill. The grill was haunted and started talking without anybody touching it, even in the middle of the night. The Amy doll was so needy and demanding that my child refused to play with her until I removed the batteries.

I bought a friggin leapfrog. Fifty bucks. Broke in two weeks .Fixed it, with the eraser trick- but then it broke again and now it's a useless fifty dollar lump of plastic.
I am very picky about toys before I buy them so I usually don't pick ones that make a lot of noise. I don't mind ones like cars, he loves legos.. he loves to color. But grandma and grandpa bought him a piano which hides safely in the closet. I don't mind the piano so much but it came with a microphone and when attached it is FREAKING loud and you CAN'T turn it down. And he just screams into it so loud and high pitched. I'm like UGH.
But I unplugged it. So we're safe.
Edit:
OH.. but he did get to make this.

So many. And not only because they're annoying. I've bought some that were just a complete waste of money because they were cheaply and shoddily made.
But the worst is her Barbie laptop. There is only one volume setting and it is very loud and Barbie's voice is especially shrill.

Aside from Lego's, which we have a strict rule about..lol there is nothing that we have bought them that I which we hadn't. However, last year we went to my husbands company picnic and they had those silly, loud "clappers". For two weeks straight, that is all we heard. Can you imagine, .clap clap clap clap clap x 4? lol
They are well hidden..lol I am going to break those out at their graduations...lol

The ones that I step on are big contenders. I know that blocks are so important for their development, but when you're nursing a bruise on the bottom of your foot then you really don't like them anymore.
