When did your child give up napping?
My son turned 2 in April and seems to be progressively giving up napping. It just seems so young for him to be staying awake all day. I put him down for a nap the same time every day, some days he just plays in his crib. I take him out after an hour or so.

It varies. Some stop around one year. But my son will be three in August and he still has a three hour nap everday. he's always been a very good sleeper though. There's even some 5 year olds who have a little cat nap after they get home from school in the afternoon. :)
Around my sons second birthday he started not sleeping during the day so I started puting him to bed a couple of hours later and that suited him much better.

Well my 8 and 22 month old both take 2 three hour naps a day and even if my 22 month old won't always want to map I put him to rest and relax in his bed and on most days he will fall asleep but just so you know they take naps on preschool and in some kindergarten classrooms

I'm a napper so my son and I napped every day and he got into the habit and continued until he went to school. My granddaughter is now 3 and she rarely takes a nap. I say as long as they are not cranky and get plenty of sleep at night it kinda individualized.

my daughter is 4 and she still needs a nap most days.If not she's cranky and tired.Everybody is different.Your child may be getting as much as he needs and therefore his body doesnt require a nap.Play it by ear .You know your child better than anyone.I wouldn't force it.
