If you were (are) a single parent would you teach special skills or tips to your child of the opposite sex?

As a mother, would you teach your son domestic skills or teach him not to do annoying manism like leave underwear on the floor. As a father, would you teach your daughter to be handy with tools or teach her about men when she starts to date.

I know that these days roles are reversed and a woman can be handy and a man can be domestic. I was just using the traditional roles.

I plan to teach my son to be able to cook and clean. I am going to teach him to treat women with the utmost respect. Teach him things like a gentleman always puts the seat down. I am not going to make him a mama's boy, but I am going to see that her is well rounded.

I definitely plan on teaching my kids (boy and girl) to cook, clean and be handy, when I was still with my ex I did most of the handy things anyway and my 3yo already helps with the cooking sometimes.

Well, I am a single father but my kids are both boys. I do still teach them to do all of the work around the house with me. They are still young (6 and 4) but they know how to load/unload and the dishwasher and they know how to put there clothes in the washer and dryer. If I did have a daughter, she would probally do the same thing that the boys and I do together. My oldest understands how to change a tire(although he can't physically do it, he sure can tell someone how to do it). They just learn all of the household chores.

I also teach my boys to treat everyone with respect.
