The tantrums will get longer and louder. This is because the kids will figure out that if they make enough noise, you'll give in.

I don't want to tell you how to raise your kids, but the word "no," firmly used and without reversal, works wonders over time. If they scream, put them in another room, close the door and let them scream. Eventually, they'll get tired of screaming. Yes, it's annoying and it disturbs the peace, but there's something working here called "extinction."

I had friends who would pick up their crying baby in the crib every time he cried. I told them to stop, because eventually he's going to figure out that *you're not listening* and crying really hurts the throat after a while.

    You have to be patient.

The children realize that if they have a tantrum, they'll get what they want. And that's why even though tantrums drive us all crazy (I have four under 8 and there have been days where I've just wanted to collapse) we have to teach the kids that tantrums are not a way to get what they want.

What happens when a king gives into an angry mob of villagers? You give into the mob and you're forever owned by the mob.First they take the egg then they return to claim the whole hen house.
