Is it wrong to search for another job at your new job?

I have been at this job for a few months. However, I just don't feel like it is a good match in terms of my long term goals. The knowledge I will gain is only product related. I won't learn much else in terms of skills for my field.

I am in the field of IT/Technical Support and still trying to figure out where I want to go in the field of IT. I recently got my A+ Certification to give me leverage along with my skillset and degree. My current job pays well but I am bored.

My worries is if for some reason I get layed off, fired, or seek a new job in the future. My skill set will be dated and be at a disadvantage. I am looking for a company that can offer more growth in terms of skills.

Am I wrong for looking what else is out there?

Update:

Thanks Writer_B. I am feeling guilty. I don't know why? I mean I have to lookout for my best interest. The question is if I do find something else. How do I break the news without burning bridges...?

You're not wrong at all. If your current job isn't a good fit, feel free to start looking for a better one. Keep your job search confidential at first, until another company starts getting serious about you.

You're lucky because you have skills that are in demand. You shouldn't have a lot of trouble finding another job. Don't forget how important networking is (the human kind, ha-ha!), so you don't want to burn any bridges when you leave.
