What do your material things do for you?

What do your material things do for you?......more material things are making us their slave and care taker only. what ever you are talking about sitting there without any use for so long that even we forgot about them if we have them or not . so we must make our selves free from these material bounds. thanks.

Its funny how they come to mean very little when you know that you never really needed any worldly possessions to truly make you happy.. I have sentimental things that i could never part with, while i live.. Things like letters written to me by my children.. pictures they drew, photographs of them... I often wonder if a fire came through, as we live in a high bushfire area, how i would feel if i lost those precious things of my children.. but so long as we all have each other, that is all that matters.. nothing more and nothing less. I can take more photos.. and their letters are etched into my heart.. words i will never forget.. like I Love you mummy... bigger than a trillion dinosaurs.... You are the best mummy in the world... (happy tears rolling down my face, remembering) ... (-:

They do fill my heart with happiness...I have the memory of buying it that made me happy, the memory of showing it off that made me happy, the memory of using it that made me happy, and the memory of losing it that made me sad...

People can and do develop relationships with material possessions like they do with other people (not sexual like a weirdo). I had a motorcycle that I crashed ... it was my baby. Every time I looked at it I admired it's beauty, I was so proud to own it (even the wife hated it and everyone said I'd kill myself on it). While I had it, it filled my heart with a great happiness that I can probably only get again if I have a human child someday.... Or a really expensive shiny purchase that everyone is jealous of. :)

Most of my material posessions are significant to me,I have discarded a lot of stuff the last few years,amazing how something that was so important at the time can become cumbersome.

It provides me with memories and fantasies. Yes it matters and I know that your pulling off "people who have too much money try to fill the gaps on their soul" but no...

Material things don't buy happiness but they do buy contentment.

It represents the good things I can display in my life to show others.

well, the things we get in life such as material things comes from the moment we receive it.

that moment makes us happy and we decide to keep it and we keep getting materials things once we want that happy feeling again.

we either buy it or may receive it in others ways. this adds up to a collections of things in our life's

PEOPLE MATTER. NT THINGS! EVEN THIS LAPTOP WHICH IS USED ANY HR I'M AWAKE - IT'S EMBARRASSING WHEN I THINK THAT HALF THE WORLD IS STARVING.

WE WERE GIVEN A CHALLENGE TO LIVE OFF £1 A DAY FOR A WEEK - BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT MOST OF THE WORLD LIVES ON. I REALISED I SPEND MORE THAN THAT ON ENERGY DRINKS!

They interest me for 'a while'.......until I pass them by.......and wonder quite profoundly -----"what do I need them for?" The ANSWER would determine as to whether I go take a considering second look,.......or walk away in contentment. :)

Some of mine do - like, my sprinkler system waters my fruit trees! I feel so clever every day when it comes on.
