What do you think of obamacare $20 million PR campaign?

A new $20 million Obamacare public relations campaign to simply tell Americans to stay healthy is coming under heavy GOP fire as a propaganda effort to prop up the embattled health reform law and the president.

“I’m calling on the president to cancel this contract,” said Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo. “The American public want real solutions to problems of health care--not more press releases and propaganda paid for with their taxpayer dollars,” added the medical doctor who chairs the Senate Republican Policy Committee.

Ohio Sen. Rob Portman added, “There is no justification for wasting $20 million in taxpayer dollars on an advertising blitz for the president’s health care spending law.” The A-list GOP vice presidential possibility added, “With Washington nearly $16 trillion dollars in debt, the American taxpayers should not be asked to fund ad campaigns defending a law that only deepens the spending hole we’re in.”

The $20 million effort--more than 10 times previous efforts to promote Obama care--will publicize elements Obamacare that encourage Americans to stay healthy. Past efforts have included a $1 million program to send out 4 million postcards promoting a tax cut in the health plan and a $700,000 ad narrated by Andy Griffith.

definite.. they ought to easily public sale the presidency off.. for it truly is strictly what it really is.. a sale to the optimal bidder... would not remember in case you recognize what you're doing.. like the fool George W.... or once you've any journey.. like Obama.. the jester. that's all only a large pastime that wealthy people play.... they lose interest sitting round counting their money i wager. And stupid us.. we purchase in to it.. we flow to rallies.. we deliver our complicated earned funds... we positioned on hats and beads and carry signs and indications and picture that what we favor makes a large difference. that's all very humorous if it weren't so unhappy. yet we call it freedom.. freedom to make ourselves look stupid at the same time as fairly it has all been determined for us behind the closed doors of the wealthy and effective... i do not recognize why the authorities would not basically keep the tens of millions spent and do something solid with it.. and put in even with legal specialist they prefer for president.. they fairly do no longer favor our enter.

Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo) needs to PAY MORE ATTENTION to his Party leadership....under Speaker Boehner's leadership, the landmark case of Citizens' United was taken all the way to the Supreme Court, and upheld the Republican contention that money is speech, so cannot be restricted based on politics...

The ironic consequence, of course, is that now conservatives like YOU are whining that you didn't MEAN "free speech for Democrats", you meant only for Republicans...but now you've got what you lobbied so hard for, and that's pretty damn funny!

    Sounds good to me.

The Affordable Healthcare Act will save American lives and money.

I am always amazed how many Americans seem not to be aware about the real healthcare issues relying instead on FOX and other sources to spread lies about the healthcare system of the USA and those abroad. I mean, if healthcare in nations with universal coverage is so bad, why do they keep it?

Obama wants to make insurance more available to all and change the system so that it gives the American people value for money [1]. He also wants change so that the insurance companies find it harder to get out of paying for treatment. The system he is proposing looks similar to that which works in Taiwan where private companies are involved in providing healthcare [2].

Obama campaigned on reforming the healthcare system. He said he wanted to make insurance more available and he was elected to do this [3].

FACT - the US has higher death rates for kids both for kids aged under one and those under five than western European countries with universal health coverage [4].

FACT – American insurance companies pushed up prices and worked to stop paying out claims on those they covered before the reforms came in [5].

FACT - the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet [6].

That means that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in any western nation with universal health coverage.

If you do not like the policies that Obama was elected to bring in, he can always be voted out of office in 2012. But if you disagree with the facts, please let me know. I am always willing to learn, but please provide proof. None of those who disagree with me have been able to do that so far.

Your premise is false. There is no $20 million campaign for "Obamacare".
