Please tell me the name of Almighty god used by Abraham, Issac, Jacob as per Quran.?

You may call with any name in any language but I want to know about the name used by Abraham, Issac, Jacob as per Quran? Do we have any scripture regarding the name in Quran? I know as per Bible they called him as Jehovah.

If they called with a different name, why and when did you change to Allah.

I think my question is not so confusing. Please give me direct answers with references in Quran if you know.

Thanks in advance if you can give me the referecne.

    יהוה

During the second or third century of the Common Era, the scribes substituted the words Ky′ri·os (Lord) and The·os′ (God) for the divine name, יהוה in copies of the Greek Septuagint translation of the Hebrew Scriptures. Other translations, such as the Latin Vulgate, the Douay Version (based on the Vulgate), and the King James Version, as well as numerous modern translations (NE, AT, RS, NIV, TEV, NAB), followed a similar practice. The divine name was replaced by the terms “God” and “Lord,” generally in all-capital letters in English to indicate the substitution for the Tetragrammaton, or divine name.

In departing from this practice, the translation committee of the American Standard Version of 1901 stated: “The American Revisers, after a careful consideration, were brought to the unanimous conviction that a Jewish superstition, which regarded the Divine Name as too sacred to be uttered, ought no longer to dominate in the English or any other version of the Old Testament, as it fortunately does not in the numerous versions made by modern missionaries. . . . This personal name [YHWH], with its wealth of sacred associations, is now restored to the place in the sacred text to which it has an unquestionable claim.”—AS

Allah is an Arabic title for english "THE God". The Arabic term Allah has no plural or gender. A perfect title for One and Unique abrahamic God. Since the Quran revealed to prophet Muhammad in Arabic, God is called as "Allah" in Quran. Btw Jehovah is not the real title for God. It was added to bible in the 14th century. The hebrew title for Abrahamic God was "Yehweh" the language of your mentioned prophets was hebrew. So they called God Yehweh

In the koran that would be Mohamed the pedo false prophet, and Allah was the name for the moon deity the meccans worshipped called Hubal.

"... The great god of Mecca was Hubal, an idol of carnelian." (Maxime Rodinson, Muhammad [New Press, NY, May 2000 ISBN: 1565847520], p. 16)

"... The Ka'ba which may have initially been a shrine of Hubal alone, housed several idols ..." Rodinson, p. 40.

"... The presiding deity was Hubal, a large carnelian kept inside the temple; 360 other idols were arranged outside ..." Malise Ruthven, Islam in the World [Oxford University Press, Second edition 2000], p. 15.

"... Although originally under the aegis of the pagan god Hubal, the Makkan ***** which centered around the well of Zamzam, may have become associated with the ancestral figures of Ibrahim and Isma'il as the Arab traders, shedding their parochial backgrounds sought to locate themselves within the broader reference-frame of Judeo-Christianity." Ibid., p. 17

"... the god of Makka, Hubal, represented by a statue of red carnelian, is thought to have been originally a totem of the Khuza'a, rulers of Makka before their displacement by the Quraysh ..." Ibid. p. 28.

"... At the time of Muhammad, the Ka'abah was OFFICIALLY DEDICATED to the god Hubal, a deity who had been imported into Arabia from the Nabateans in what is now Jordan. But the pre-eminence of the shrine as well as the common belief in Mecca seems to suggest that it may have been dedicated originally to al-Llah, the High God of the Arabs ..." Karen Armstrong, Muhammad: A Biography of the Prophet [Harper San Francisco; ISBN: 0062508865; Reprint edition, October 1993], pp. 61-62

"... Legend had it that Qusayy had travelled in Syria and brought the three goddesses al-Lat, al-Uzza and Manat to the Hijaz and enthroned the Nabatean god Hubal in the Ka'abah ..." Armstrong, p. 66.

Pre-Islamic Arabia also had its stone deities. They were stone statues of shapeless volcanic or meteoric stones found in the deserts and believed to have been sent by astral deities. The most prominent deities were Hubal, the male god of the Ka'ba, and the three sister goddesses al-Lat, al-Manat, and al-Uzza; Muhammad's tribe, the Quraysh, thought these three goddesses to be the daughters of Allah. Hubal was the chief god of the Ka'ba among 360 other deities. He was a man-like statue whose body was made of red precious stone and whose arms were of solid gold. George W. Braswell, Jr., Islam Its Prophets, Peoples, Politics and Power [Broadman & Holman Publishers, Nashville, TN; July, 1996], p. 44.

Hubal. An idol, God of the moon. It was set up in the Kabah and became the principle idol of the pagan Meccans. Cyril Glassé, The Concise Encyclopedia of Islam [Harper & Row: San Francisco, 1989], p. 160.

As a Christian for me here is a good source for what the Koran god's name is if there is just one single one. And there isn't.

Here is the start of it "The Koran does not contain any passages which comprise any kind of systematic description of the characteristics of God. In Arabic he is called "Allah", which means simply "The God". God does not introduce himself in the Koran like he does in the Old Testament, with the words "I am who I am", (Exodus 3,14, NASB) but remains hidden - a mystery.

So the word "Allah" doesn't appear in the Koran.

Like another poster posted from wikipedia there are 99 attributes of Allah but no name for God as he is a mystery.

    Great question.

Prophet Muhammad said: 'To God belongs 99 names, 100 minus 1, anyone who memorizes them will enter Paradise; He (God) is odd (odd number, he is the Only One), and He loves odd numbers (such as 99)'
