No, there are Many cat's like this. They are just more skittish. If you think about it, you are Much bigger than her so seeing this giant walking towards her she's scared.

Instead of walking towards her, sit down and let her come to you. Get a toy that you can dray on the floor for her to chase. This will let her play with out feeling crowded.

Source(s): Owner of 6 cats, the oldest, a 16 year old siamese, is Exactly the same. I've had her since she was 2 days old. She Loves me, but still if I walk towards her (or near her) she runs to get out of my way.

Your cat is probably pretty afraid. Who knows what horrible past she could of had. Watch your movements and make sure you do not make any sudden movements. When you walk near her, walk slowly and calmly with a treat or fun toy. Never reach out to touch her, let her touch you. When she sees you aren't being any type of threat, she will come towards you slowly. When she is walking be VERY slow and no sudden movements or she will feel afraid. As she comes to you and smells you or something, gently pet her lightly. This is pretty normal for newly adopted pets. All animals have fears and need a good trust with you before you play with them or anything like that.

  • Honey, I have the same exact kitty.. My linx (who i rescued on the roadside at 6 weeks) who is now 3 years old did the same thing at 1 yr. I could cuddle him at one moment and the next moment he would run and hide.. It really takes a while... There is not a fast action response.. Just keep playing with her.. :)

Get her some treats and slowly try to coax her towards you.
