is the universe endless?
if the universe is endless, wouldnt that mean that possibilties are endless.if it was truely endless would it be safe to say that anything our minds can conjure up exists in some space.for instance super man and his world exist.
if it was endless in space at this moment in time conditions would be different elsewhere considering the conditions cannot be the exact same.

That is a question that "man" has questioned from the beginning of "humanity", interesting but baffling, my belief is that the "universe" is endless, or infinite. Yes, I believe there is life out there somewhere, but maybe not as we would recognise. Evolution made us what we have become, coupled with what happens naturally with our solar system, which people choose to call God, which "man" has no control off!
However, we all dream of a "better world", somewhere out there in space, you & I won't experience it, nor would you, probably, want to.
The question you really are asking is, "does people believe in destiny or fate", sorry thats just my instinctive reaction to your question!

Sorry no - even if the universe were endless (which it isn't) this doesn't mean "Anything is possible" - it merely would mean that there would be an indefinite amount of space. As it is - it is presumed the universe is finite but curved.
To add to what Chan.. said (which is correct) - the universe is a little like sitting on the surface of a planet which is getting bigger and bigger - whilst the arena you are allowed to walk in gets more expansive - it is still finite - and bound by it's shape (curved)....scientists often allude to the example of space being like the surface of a balloon as the balloon gets blown up things move further apart - but unlike the balloon there is no "centre" from which all is moving.
It does not mean "possibilities are endless" even if the universe was infinite.
To expand on That'sMY....comment - the universe is also finite in TIME as it is likely to suffer entropic heat death - as it expands it is losing energy. Even if it lasted for all time - again - not all possibilities are allowed, since all is constrained by the laws of physics.

No because the Doppler effect explains the redshifts in light that we can observe in any star or galaxy, it shows that the Universe is expanding, and something that is endless cannot expand. As to what is beyond our Universe, I do not think that anyone knows.

When you say that the universe is endless, are you meaning for it to be endless in time or size? Because the universe cant live forever and the universe isn't infinitely large either.

The big bang theory says the universe is still getting bigger and expanding at a current speed, this is why most of the other galaxies are moving away from us, this is called redshift and the andromeda galaxy is coming towards us, this is called blueshift. In four billion year andromeda and the milkyway will collide and out solar system will be flung through space.

yes, its endless, no that doesnt mean any/all possibilities exist. why would "endless" imply that? its far more likely that its just exactly the same thing over and over... like a fractal.
