I cannot conceive of a God who rewards and punishes his creatures or has a will of the type of which we are conscious in ourselves. An individual who should survive his physical death is also beyond my comprehension, nor do I wish it otherwise; such notions are for the fears or absurd egoism of feeble souls. Enough for me the mystery of the eternity of life, and the inkling of the marvelous structure of reality, together with the single-hearted endeavor to comprehend the portion, be it never so tiny, of the reason that manifests in nature.

Well i give you a few:

    1. Have you ever wandered where this world came from? Some people say the big bang theory but just think about it for awhile Christianity has been around for over 3,000 years The big bang theory and evolution 200 years

    2. No one was there when the earth was created so why do some people think it was because of evolution? it seems like it would make a little more sense with a young earth theory because apes and monkeys aren't evolving right now so. And im not saying you believe in evolution just giving out some ideas what most people believe right now

    3. What did evolution make first? the vascular system? The digestive system? What did evolution make first?

    4. Both Christianity and Evolution are both religions because religions= what you believe

    5. People say Evolution is science but it is not science because no one was there when Earth was created. SO you believe both by faith

    6. Some people don't want to believe Christianity because most people want to do their own thing go their own way they don't want to live by a set of rules but actually Christianity isn't a set of rules it is actually a life style you can choose your own way in life but it's not worth it it's better to do what God wants you to do

    7. And if there was a God wouldn't you want to know him before you die? Some people don't think of that

Well i have tried to explain it even though i didn't have to sit here and answer this because i can't convince you there is a God you have to believe it yourself.

I've struggled with this too, and the only evidence I see is the fact that the laws of physics are fine tuned to allow for the possibility of life to exist. If gravity was a little bit weaker, stars wouldn't have formed. If gravity was stronger, everything would've been consumed into black holes by now. Also, if the the proton was just a little bit heavier, stars would burn out much quicker and there wouldn't have been enough time for life to form.

The big bang is some evidence for a creator. Think about it; all of this energy and matter came from nothing at the big bang.

Sounds like a creator created the universe from nothing and wrote the laws of physics so that it's finely tuned to allow for the possibility of life. All of this bible stuff and religion is all faith based and man made with no evidence to back up a creator.

It still doesn't prove a creator, but it sure points towards one in my opinion.

If you're looking for scientific evidence, you won't find it. Science can only explain what is physical, while God is a spirit. I know you said "don't just say faith" but faith is what you need to be able to believe and trust that God is there. It's fully believing He's there even though you cannot see him. It's not something that's impossible to do, because if it were, there wouldn't be many Christians, would there? God created you and loves you more than you can imagine. He wants to have a relationship with absolutely everyone. Before that can happen though, you must believe and trust that He is there. Only then can you experience the wonderful blessings He has in store for you.

    Shape of the earth.

    Isaiah 40:22a MSG

22 God sits high above the round ball of earth.

    Job 26:7

7 He spreads the skies over unformed space,

hangs the earth out in empty space.

    Stars are all different

    Isaiah 40:26

26 Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name. Because of his great power and incomparable strength, not a single one is missing.

    1 Corinthians 15:41

41 The sun has one kind of glory, while the moon and stars each have another kind. And even the stars differ from each other in their glory.

    Wind and water cycles

    Ecclesiastes 1:6-7

6 The wind blows south, and then turns north. Around and around it goes, blowing in circles. 7 Rivers run into the sea, but the sea is never full. Then the water returns again to the rivers and flows out again to the sea.

There are plenty more scientific accuracies in the bible even though many claim that it's NOT scientific. Pray to Jehovah / Yahweh to reveal Himself to you and He will do so and answer all of your questions.

Even though I'm now a "believer" some people believe, and some don't. If you honestly feel like you're missing out on something, don't try and force yourself into any specific belief system. It will feel just artificial and fake.

Instead, work on just being grateful for the things you have. Work up that sense of gratitude, and you'll find more and more things to be grateful for. Learn about the different religions out there! Take the time to read their holy books and get involved in their communities.

When I started my whole religious experience, I was being told that nothing greater existed and I "rebelled" by trying to pray to my ancestors (like Mulan...SIGH). Now, I'm at a place where I wouldn't have ever expected and am happy to be here.

Just don't stress and don't push anything that feels fake. That's just plain "following" for the sake of following, and not real belief.

(Also, don't push your beliefs on others if you do develop them.)

    Good luck!

You forgot about "look inside yourself" or "there's evidence, but you're ignoring it." I think the only "reason" would not be a reason that convinces you of its truth, but more of a motivation-type reason, i.e. "I believe because I don't want to die." So when you get desperate enough, you may end up believing. Even Christians admit that is a motivator.

There is no empirical evidence that proves the existence of God.

There is no empirical evidence that proves he doesn't exist either.

Why do you want to have a reason to believe in god? What would be the point? Are you looking for an emotional crutch? Or seeking to externalize your achievements and failures so as to avoid taking responsibility for yourself?

    Sorry if this is unhelpful.

I could give you a few reasons, no good ones though.

Death is scary - If you pretend, sorry believe in god you don't have to worry about it.

I'm sure there are some things you don't know or understand - You could answer them with god, saves you having to bother actually finding out.

    Lots of people do it.

It has never been proven wrong (and if it is you can change what god is)

What do you have to lose? (aside from personal choice and freedom)

Just look around you at this world he created, with all of it's loving people and all of the peace that is around you in this world. How the people that teach and preach his will 'love' children. How the Vatican is the richest country in the world and yet they don't help the poor, they prey on them for their own means.

Oh wait, that proves there is a Satan, not god . . . sorry, can't help you.
