okay christians have made a good point?

if there is no way to prove a god exists,or doesnt.and there is no way to prove heaven and hell are real or fake.why not put your hope in the fact that there is at least hope for something else. well being athiest i can say that of course i hope something like heaven exists.but that does not mean i believe in my heart that there is.because to me it seems normal to think there is no god if there is no proof of one.christians can you respect that?

You want to give in to a silly appeal to consequences fallacy, fill your boots, but no, I don't respect it.

Have you ever felt chills? That is the Holy Spirit trying to speak to you. Have you ever had a dream that you knew had a special meaning? Again, that is the Holy Spirit. There is more historical, archaeological and linguistic evidence to back up the validity of the Bible than any other spiritual or ancient book. There is evidence if you want to take the time to read it and discover it. The Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke would stand up as evidence in any Western court of law.

That is not a good reason. I would like to believe that the tooth fairy really did put money under my pillow, but there is no evidence and so I can't bring myself to believe it. And anyway, if you just think there is a god or heaven/hell purely because you don't know and think it sounds nice, you wouldn't go to heaven according to the bible. You need to have a strong foundation of faith. However, there is really not enough (none really) proof to sustain such faith. One shouldn't need the threat of a hell to be moral.

  • I will respect your lack of belief as long as you respect my belief. I honestly hope Hell is empty. I honestly hope no one ends up there. It would not disappoint me in the least if I got to Heaven and God decided to let everyone in.

I really appreciate your respectful, humble approach to religion. You have my respect. I think it's normal to have doubts. You're probably a good person, just seeking the truth like we all are. I encourage you to keep looking, because I think you're on the right track. Take care, my friend.
