Mystic's, gnostic's, and psychics are all born, and made in the image of God.
The 'image of God' can only be observed within and through, 'God's Qualities'.
Mystic's have been graced with specific qualities and attributes.
Gnostic's have imbibed specific qualities and attributes.
Psychics have attained specific qualities and attributes.
The observable difference between the three is to be found within the specific qualities contained within each.
Some have been filled with God's qualities, while others are yet lacking in God's Qualities.
That is how one can observe the unique differences, between the three individuals mentioned within the above question.
The qualities found to be within a human being, will reveal the nature and essence of a human being.
Example:
~~ "The Honey Bee will recognize the true value of a flower, by the delectable pollen contained within the flower. The Honey Bee will closely examine each flower and if a particular flower has no pollen to offer, it will continue upon its journey, remember the flower and return at another time." ~~
The Honey Bee definitely knows how honey is "Made".
Human beings are "born" equal upon entering the world.
What a human being has "made" of ones life while one is within the world is strictly up to the individual.
Few human beings have gained the knowledge and fully comprehend the nature and meaning of "work".
Some human beings find "work" repulsive, and will forever remain slothful and blatantly lazy.
Few human beings actually understand the value of, "work".
A being that has been filled with "Wisdom" is indeed Self-made.
~ Oh man, know thy-Self ~
Knowing Self, requires "Work".
"If someone asks what 'work' there is to do, light the candle in their hand." - Rumi
Peace be always with and within you.

hmmmm....
a bit of both maybe.
I remember childhood psychic experiences. Auras, past lives, 'invisible' companions. Standing next to someone and suddenly"knowing' their life story. So, yes, I was born with vast capabilities, that I remember having and sharing. My mom was appalled, what to do with me? Her best advice was to shut it all down as much as possible. Which I did, for the most part. So then, I was sort of "unmade".
Then later, I decided I wanted to change that, and reactivated. Now, I am still refining/learning that the deeper I throw down my roots into the Earth, the higher my branches reach. Meaning, the more grounded I cause myself to be, the more mystical, psychic and awakened I experience myself. Also, the more I am willing to claim these states of consciousness as mine, the more they are.
So, the short of it is, yes and yes.

are mechanics born or made? are singers born or made?
is any human limited?
are all things possible?
are channels born or made? are mediums born or made?
are these terms and labels born with us or made up?
what's the difference between a mystic a gnostic or a psychic?
you're telepathic....you understand no?
and by the way, did you train einstein and plato or did they train you?
and the angels, did your encounters with them teach you nothing?
were you born knowing, or made knowing?
if you lost your way....could you find the path that leads you back?
are you sure that's the correct fork in the road?
are we destined or fated to become anything or anyone in particular, or do we create the events of our lives and re-invent ourselves on purpose?
does it bother you to lose your place in the hierarchy of all that is?
were you born insane or made that way?
I'll add...

The soothsayer in Kung Fu Panda 2 says that everything worth knowing about the past, present, and future is present in the Here and Now.
If you want to be a mystic, you have to learn to dissove the ego.
If you want to be a gnostic, you have to learn to play with reality.
If you want to be a psychic, you have to cultivate boundless heart and infinite empathy.
We are born with a True All-knowing self veiled in several layers of filthy faulty perceptions created by the ego. Lift the veil to know the true self.
Does this answer please you, sir? :)

We are all born with the ability to read thought energy. I am not sure why but we then lose that ability rather early in life, some completely and others keep remnants of it. All of us have the possibility to regain that forgotten skill as long as we believe (and yes imagine counts) that we can.
My mother had such an ability to a high level and was in great demand amongst friends and family but stopped using this skill because her religion forbade it. She was able to access information on the psychic level and never charged for her time.

I think, both,
because all beings inherit these qualities or abilities right from the time of the birth,
but very few become able to attain these qualities
under special mystical conditions and circumstances.

Imagined.
Nobody is actually psychic or mystic, and "gnostic" just means "one who knows."
Peace.

They are made. Although people do seem to be born with inherent gifts, in general it requires intelligence, experience, know-how, and knowledge to evolve to those types of statuses you mentioned.

Their birth is pre-destined...many events in the world occur just to make such a birth happen...

Made, in order to make money by exploiting others.
