Wedding Dress or Vacation? Women, Explain!?

Ok, so you can spend thousands on a holiday... Or, thousands on a dress you'd wear once.

Yet, it seems time and time again, women will choose the dress. What? Why? D:

It seems that many young girls hold this ideology of having the most extravagant wedding. I've known girls that have made a scrapbook of their wedding when they were 16. Crazy, right? They just want to look perfect and be envied. Hence spending thousands on a dress. Any woman that is more excited about the attention of the event than the union of the two should reconsider why their getting married. I dont care how much money you have, spending thousands on something that will be worn (not even a whole day but a few hours) once is absolute madness!

I mean, with that kind of money I could practically put a down payment on a house!

I would choose the holiday. You can have more memories over the span of 10 days, versus just one day. I don't know why some women spend thousands of dollars on a dress they will wear only for one day, out of their entire life.

I went for a cheap(ish) dress but I can understand the desire for an expensive dress. It's pretty simple really: a wedding is a once in a lifetime event, but you can have any number of vacations.

I would never spend thousands on a dress. I'd prefer a beautiful, economical dress and a vacation. If you're smart you can have both. ;)

I only spent a few hundred dollars on my dress. Thousands is just to much money. We saved where we could so we could have a nice honeymoon!

Not me! I love to travel. My wedding dress was a vintage gown and cost under $50. But I loved my dress.

Well I'd prefer a once in a lifetime holiday so I'd opt for that but u have to understand that all eyes are on brides. Feeling conscious in a not so nice cheap dress won't feel good :/ totally see your point though :)
