Requiring people to show state issued ID card for voting is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.Do you agree with the following?

It's unconstitutional , here is why...(I doubt Cons will read it but lets hope there are educated ones).

Every US citizen has right to vote. The US citizens do NOT have to pay money in order to vote,it is their right.

It is a fact that millions of American Citizens(especially poor ones) have ID cards that are expired(not valid for elections) and perhaps they can't afford to get another one.

Isn't forcing people to buy state issued ID against the citizen's rights? Why should they pay $ in order to be able to vote ?

Rich folks don't have a problem with getting a new one and we all know that poor ones are more likely to vote for Democrats so Republicans are deliberately trying to pass an UNCONSTITUTIONAL laws against Democrats.

Still blaming Obama for Obamacare?

This has been addressed again and again and most states already offer assistance to ensure that acquiring a valid photo ID doesn't present a cost burden to anyone needing it.

As for your question, it's hard to say...

On the one hand, I don't want to see voter fraud because people are voting multiple times without ID... We can not allow this to continue...

But on the other hand, I'm not in favor of a national ID card, and I don't think it's right to force people to buy an ID just so they can exercise their right to vote...

There's no law that says you have to posses an ID... So it does seem somewhat unconstitutional to say you need ID to exercise your most basic right to vote...

This is a really tough issue... I don't know what the solution is, but it has to be effective against fraud, while not infringing on peoples liberty...

And yes, I'm still blaming Obama for Obamacare... Who else would I blame?

I call bull. My "poor" neighbors, who haven't worked a day in the six years I've lived here, smoke (cigs and dope), drive a nicer car than me (so someone has an ID in that house already), have a tv twice as big as mine, has the latest in game consoles and the $50 games that go with them, have air conditioners in every window and they throw parties every weekend. You're telling me they can't afford $13.50 to get an ID? Bull. Every citizen of legal age has the right to buy a six-pack, but they have to show ID or they don't get their booze. Is that unconstitutional?

    You sir/madam are correct.

I do believe that we should show some kind of identification to vote, but renewals should be FREE. As the most important identification document, with which you cannot really do much if you don't have it, the government should not charge for getting one or renewing an expired one. It is insane that we must PAY for OUR principal identification document, which is incredibly important for so many things.

Example: Florida will prevent 200,000 people from voting.

Voter fraud in last 10 years, 1/16 of 1%.

We don't need any more con logic screwing things up.

Bush stole the election in 2000 and they dishonored a highly decorated veteran in 2004.

Don't let the cons touch anything.

I disagree. The 24th amendment abolished Poll Taxes. If you could prove that paying a fee to get a state issued ID card is a Poll Tax, you might have a case.

Stop whining about it. They make laws like this to prevent people from voting multiple times and screwing up the results.

Nothing is forcing you to vote nor buy any state issued ID.

You have to have a stat ID to get a license or drink alcohol too. It just proves you're a citizen for cripe's sake.

You have to have id to do almost anything, cash a check, drive. buy beer, rent a motel room, get a job, so why not to vote?
