i have an 07 honda civic manual, how to get more acceleration?

Question

so, everything on the car is still stock, ive done some interior lighting but nothing engine related, as a quick point im not looking for something to break the sound barrier, top speed is not my concern, except when im playing around i never go above 80-90 anyways, it gets pretty good accel when down shifting, duh, im just looking for little things i can do over time to get that 60-80 mph boost, on the highway, some guy drives up we play around back and forth a bit, but i can take off if i wanted, not trying to win on the 2mile just the 1/4 mile kinda deal, 2 requirements tho, i will keep it a manual, i enjoy driving a car not just steering it, and im not cutting weight simply for the fact of cutting weight, new seats, if they happen to weigh less great, but nothing drastic like taking out passenger seat completely

not buying a new car love hondas for their upgrade abilities, and i looked at the wrx had none in my area it will probably be my next car but i get deployed in 2 years im not gonna buy a new car right before then, yes i should go to a track, but i couldnt let some kid whos parents bought him a mustang and just because its called a stang he thinks he will win, i couldnt let his automatic out perform me, and thankyou for the actual details

buy a real car don't try to make you're car something its not you're car was born a grocery getter and it will die one. if you want a fast fun car get a v8 rear wheel drive

Budget? Easiest one is to run it on higher octane fuel. An exhaust system will give you more power and torque at higher RPM.

If we are looking at a Type-R there are some cool bits at JAS-Motorsport you could clip on. Italian firm, but have been the primary Civic builder/tuner in the rally world.

Though really, instead of doing this stuff on the street, I'd invest your time into looking at local motorsport clubs and doing your fun there rather than on public roads where you can get caught...

Your better off getting a real car that's fast off the showroom floor like a Subaru Impreza WRX. A fart can exhaust and cold air intake adds very little power and makes you look like a ricer.
