Genl. Cadorna, WW1 Question?

Were there ever any assassination attempts on General Luigi Cadorna among his troops? He seems to have been such a harsh and cruel leader that I would have expected there to be serious desire to see him permanently out of the way.

    eldots53,

good question. Luigi Cadorna was arguably harsh but he was also the Marshal of Italy and even when he was "sacked" in his position no impositions of any legal form were ever brought against him. This to me in and of itself simply in laymans terms tells me that he never faced the controversy of any assassination attempts during the course of his command. I've only read about him on the peripheral of readings over the years in regards to World War 1 activity. It would be an interesting "dig" I admit to dive a little further into his personal history.

His son of course was arguably one very important Italian Resistance Fighter during WW II. Maybe this is becomes his one saving grace.

    All the best,

    Gerry
