Can a parent abandon a child for being obese and still claim them on their taxes?
Hi, I have a 14 year old daughter and she weighs 407 pounds, we tried everything, but are at our end, she was kicked out 2 months ago for being fat, we sent her to her grandmother's house. I was wondering if we can still claim her on our 2012 tax forms as a dependent. Since she lived with us 2 months before being kicked out.
PS: She gained 32 pounds since living with her grandma, we are not sure how this is possible since her grandma is a vegan dietitian in LA.
For all you people out there who think I was being cruel, cruel we gave her 3 months to change her diet. It was necessary
