Are the rises in Crime and Atheism related?
As the years have gone by Violence and Crime have been becoming more and more common, just as Atheism has as well. Is there a possible link between the 2?
You are going to have to give me solid evidence that these criminals you speak of were Christians before they committed their crimes and didn't become one or weren't really a Christian to start with.
@Matt I'm not talking about just a couple of years here, I'm talking decades. 50 years ago people could go out of their houses at night without fear of being mugged or even killed.
Where is your evidences that 99% of prisoners were True Christians BEFORE they committed their crimes, i need proof of this widely used claim of the anti-christian movement.
@Ren And there are more people OUTSIDE prisons that are religious.
@Awkward If you had read that article closer you would have discovered that it says that they are NOT actually religious people, they are only pretending.

Please provide proof of that. Used to be time when hundred and thousands of people were killed in name of religion. Most of the violence is religion related (Terrorism?) if take the whole world into consideration. You could link those two but then if you take example of america 16.1% are not affiliated to any religion and yet christians make up for 99% of the prison population (when infact only 78% of the population are christians) .

Oh my God. No. Just because two things are happening around the same time doesn't mean they're affecting each other.
If anything, atheism reduces crime rates, because people realize that they don't get eternal life after they die, so they don't want to spend the time they have in prison.
Logic. That's what this world needs. Jeez.

Perhaps, but the rise in atheism was directly caused by a rise in big mac sales, so clearly Mcdonalds is behind all the crime in the world.
It all fits together so well!

You would have to show direct correlation, otherwise one could argue the Decrease in pirates of the seas is causing the rise in global temperature
careful on trying to decide what makes some one a "Christian" because even amongst you don't agree on this, for me the distinction is simple, those that believe in the Jesus myth are Christian

You need to check the crimes statistics. Most categories of crime have been falling for almost 20 years. Hate crimes against law-abiding, taxpaying, gay Americans continue to rise each year due to the evil incidents from the radical anti-gay lobby such as calling for all gay Americans to be thrown into electrified concentration camps.

I actually can't think of a crime that was committed in direct coloration with atheism... How ever i can think of several crimes that Christians seem to promote... like hate crimes against gays and abortion clinics... even hate crimes against atheists.

In fact your wrong. Per head of population, crime has dropped.
Therefore if there is a link, that then says that Atheist are less inclined to commit crimes.

There are more criminals in prison that are religious.
EDIT: Regardless of which religion a criminal follows the point is, if there are more religious criminals, then you can pretty much see outside the prison that the population that is religious, crime would be much higher. If religion teaches morality then why are there higher religious criminals in prison?

Funny considering crime rates have been plummeting for years. Facts are a b*tch, eh?
Oh and I actually have sources to back my claims: From a wide variety of media.
