Do you support corporations that support gay rights?

I saw a lot of bigots complaining on Oreo's Facebook wall after they posted pictures of rainbow Oreos in support of Gay Pride Day, saying they were planning boycotts among their conservative friends and churches. Well I hope those people don't also own iPhones or Androids, drink Coke products, use Google, buy things on amazon, or plan to visit Disney World. Seeing as all of them had to be using a PC or a Mac to write the comments, they automatically fail, but alas, you'll never convince intolerant conservative

fundies of their hypocrisy, you can only call them out on it. So here goes.. companies that support gay rights:

Do you support corporations that support gay rights?

Update:

So for those of you who allegedly don't support them, I wonder, what kind of phone do you use? How exactly are you posting your answer without the use of products created by Microsoft, Apple and Google? Yeah that's what I thought. Some of you conservatives are dumber than I thought.

Update 2:

Tiff, where did I say "all conservatives hate gays"? Looks like someone needs a reading lesson. Shocking.

Update 3:

@Laura:

"I mean, the majority of people aren't exactly proclaiming any section of American society shouldn't be denied basic rights." You're right, the majority aren't, but the religious right certainly is.

Update 4:

@Jenny

I think there are people in general who will buy what they want anyway, and people who will choose to support or not support companies with certain interests and agendas. It's not "all straight people buy what they want" and "all gays buy only from corps that support them." I'm straight, and I haven't eaten Chick-Fil-A in over four years because of their religious agenda. And yes, the Oreos have rainbow filling, but I think it's just a picture, not real Oreos. Although I don't know why it matters if kids have rainbow Oreos. Rainbows aren't some kind of gay logo, I liked rainbows as a kid. And even if it were, who cares? The more exposure kids have now the better, IMHO.

    3M - daily

    Aetna -daily

    Agilant Technologies -daily

    Amazon - frequently

    Apple - daily

    Applebee's - love their food

    AT&T - daily

Capital One - i hate capital one, but have a card from them

    Coca-Cola - i have one weekly

Ford - the only american brand i would consider purchasing

    Gerber Baby Products - daily

    Google - daily

Hewlett-Packard - using product right now

    MasterCard - daily

    Microsoft - daily

    Pepsico - weekly

Starbucks - once a month, maybe

Toyota- prius owner 50 miles driven daily

    UPS - frequent

Walgreens - i will never support anymore because they fired an employee who deployed his concealed gun while the store was being robbed at gunpoint

I support individual rights so long as they don't intrude on what should be my right.

I don't understand how everyone is so concerned about what gays can and can't do legally. How is it that what they do affects anyone else's life? I can understand if you don't agree if a man shouldn't be with a man, but why do people even want to waste their thoughts on other people's business. I never could understand that.

btw: i think i'm going to eat me some chick fil a today. I could care less if they close on sunday. it's their company and chickfila can run it how they want, even if it means gaining less profit / loss of business. i'm going to buy myself a pack of oreos and hope it's got rainbows all over them.

reasoning based on religion is retarded.

    Companies That Support Gays

depends what you mean by "gay rights..."

for some, it means allowing a minority to dictate the laws that govern the whole...and I definitely do not support that...

for others, it means that people should be treated with respect and dignity (which includes not being singled out for preferential or detrimental treatment)... I certainly support that...

...so in order to answer your "question," I'm going to need context that can't fit on a bumper sticker..

Gays only have a right to be gay but not to force any other person to accept homosexuality. The right to religious belief is a protected right. I am against gay marrige for many different reasons both religious and social. Marriages have the greatest impact on society because of the children they produce. A same sex union could bear no children and has not necessity to be protected or regulated by state government. And I disagree on exposing children to homosexuality. Children should be left out of this. Sex is for adults. Teens should be discouraged by both parents and schools about having sex. This oversexing of children should be considered abuse.

I'm not a big supporter of corporations, period. But I can get behind those companies that support gay rights. After all, if a corporation's main objective is to aquire wealth, why should they care who it comes from?

They support gay rights because there are so many gay people that will make a point to spend money with them, and straight people are going to buy what they buy anyway.

Rainbows on Oreo packages? That's a bit over the top. Kids eat those cookies, right???????????????

    I work for one.

I think most people, even religious people, agree that homosexuals deserve equal rights. There just isn't a perfect agreement on what is or is not a "right".

Source(s): By the way, corporations aren't "people", correct?

Gay people should be outraged that so many entities in business and politics are exploiting them. "Supporting gay rights," is no different than, "supporting women's rights," or, "supporting children's rights." I mean, the majority of people aren't exactly proclaiming any section of American society shouldn't be denied basic rights.

And since none of the entities who proclaim their "support," have any ability or desire to do anything in society, it's exploitation.

Edit: So, how many on the religious right have moved to stone gays to death? To execute or exile them? Haven't heard that anywhere from the "religious right." That would be all over the news. So, they deny them paying taxes and death, like all of us? No, no they haven't.

Have they pointed out that straight liberals exploit this branch of our society for dubious purposes? Yes. So, unless you count pandering as "support," I haven't seen any denying of rights beyond the rights we all have.

Eh, I don't agree with everything those corporations believe in, so what? Come on, are we gonna have to start only befriending people who agree with us on everything?

These boy-cotters are expecting these corporations to be socially conservative, but COME ON, there are better and more important ways to use your energy than boycotting anyone who disagrees with you on homosexuality.

    Source(s): And I'm a reactionary!
