Do you think the Global Warming Hoax Hoax is dead or do people think it's real?
It just seems like a lot of people have dropped anything to do with Global Warming since there isn't anything we can do about it. It's not connected to CO2 but water vapor which has a 8.5 fold higher index of heat capacity and is like 4% of the atmosphere instead of being measured in ppm like CO2.
So what do we do now to stop pollution since man-made CO2 emissions aren't the culprit? Even if they were, there's no way to significantly alter the course by limiting industrial output ----- or is that the hoax hoax? It's all confused.
Do you think it will hurt Obama's chances? He needlessly invested resources in "green technology" without consideration toward citizens suffering in a bad economy.
@Vito - not water....water vapor. If the termperature was rising, then water vapor would increase. Since water vapor is 8.5 fold more potent as a greenhouse gas than Carbon Dioxide, and since water vapor molecules GROSSLY outnumber carbon dioxide molecules in the air, it follows that limiting man-made carbon dioxide emissions CANNOT make a difference.

Hopefully it is dead; we cannot afford for this ponzi scheme perpetrated to garner political power for some and unlimited research money booty for others to rob us of our cash and freedom
Unfortunately it has not gone away. Certain gullible people have adopted these lies as their religion. Getting them to see the truth is about the same as getting schizophrenics to believe the voices in their heads are not real.
I am an old man of 44; in my lifetime I have seen the same con job but it was called the coming ice age, acid rain, the hole in the ozone and global warming. So when I heard about climate change I just rolled my eyes and said here we go again.
It would be laughable if it were not for the power that some of these people hold
Read Jim Inhofe's book The Greatest Hoax to get the facts to counter some of their rantings. To me it was a tough read because so of his revelations seemed like such common sense facts that it could be a book about grass being green. But it was still worth reading.

Uh, there's been pretty much exactly the same amount of water on the planet for the last 4 billion years. The only thing that alters how much is in the atmosphere is the temperature, and more CO2 increases temperature.
Thanks for explaining why run-away greenhouse effects are so dangerous. I agree, we should do something about it.
As for this:
"Even if they were, there's no way to significantly alter the course by limiting industrial output"
A 20% reduction in CO2 output will put the net increase of CO2 at 0 any more than 20% and the CO2 concentration will fall. I'd hardly say there's "no way" that's possible.

When you talk about Global Warming you need to distinguish between warming and man caused global warming. This planet has gone through numerous warming cycles which had nothing to do with activities of mankind. The Sun is a big factor. Volcanic eruptions put out more carbon dioxide in 15 minutes than the USA puts out all year. Do we need to control emissions? Of course we do. There is a lot more stuff in some of those emissions than carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is the natural product of organic decomposition. Man caused emissions account for less than 3%.

It is very real. This last winter was globally the warmest winter on record.
But lets look at some of your claims. It would have been better if you would provide your sources on stuff like this.
* It is cooler if you are under clouds (aka water vapor), not warmer. It is also cooler if you are inside a cloud. In addition, water vapor condenses into rain which also cools things down. CO2 does not condense, the only way it dissipates is when it slowly gets captured into rain droplets and falls to Earth which can take centuries.
* CO2 is a major culprit. Nothing you said proves otherwise.
* You said that "...there's no way to significantly alter the course by limiting industrial output...". That is patently false. We aren't even talking about limiting industrial output, we are talking about cleaning up the pollutants industry puts out and we not only already know how to do it, it is in place and is CREATING JOBS. The pollution in many cities, including industrial cities like Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, New York have experience significant reductions of pollutants including even acid rains. Southern California has not had a air pollution alert for decades when it was once commonplace each summer. Contracting illnesses when living near an industrial plant has been reduced significantly.
* His investment in green technology was only a part of the investment projects, only two green companies have folded and your love child, Solyndra was actually approved in the Bush administration but paid out during Obama's. The advantage is that being the leader of a technology that we created is lucrative. And why would we want to watch some other country make bundles of cash for something we invented?
* Now let me talk about one of the persons Global warming naysayers like to quote from. A college engineer professor wrote a paper against global warming. The big problem is that nobody would give it a favorable peer review on it. That is a big put down against him. Anyone can write a paper on any subject, even you or myself but, unless a peer in the field involved peer reviews it, it isn't given much credence. To give you a more drastic example, a professor wrote a paper claiming that the Titanic sank not because it hit an iceberg but because of a fire in one of the ships coal bins. The result was that he was a laughing stock. Perhaps I should end this by mentioning that the professor who wrote the paper on the Titanic also wrote about global warming, Robert Essenhigh. z

We had the warmest winter since records were kept in the Northeast. Syracuse New York had its first winter with less than 48" of snow since 1922.

yea it's a shame those pesky scientists that study it still think it's real. We'll just have to drown them out with loud shouts until they stop talking. Then it'll go away.

global warming is another way for the gov't to take our money. i find it a hoax. the gov't just wants us to spend more money on nicer, cleaner products such as fuel efficient cars. if youre religious, global warming should be no issue.

Being "good for the environment" is a fashion statement. Unfortunately, it will linger for some time.
