No single Pokemon is dumb, it is it's trainer that is the dumbest. :) All you do is put it into your PC box and then access it from the PC. There should be a option to release it. PC box is in the Pokemon Center.

Go to a near by Pokemon Center go to the PC where you switch your pokemon, select the pokemon you dont want, then select release. Sad music starts playing and the pokemon disappears from the box and goes into the wild
