Can Cats be Retarted?
My Cat has had 2 fits, shes 1 year old and shes not vey coherent, and she doesnt tend to land on her feet, she usually lands on her side or belly, when i call her she just kind of looks at me like .. what? Whereas my other cat would come up to me and rub up against my leg. Could she just be dumb? Or is there a bigger issue to her that would explain the fits?

Yes they can be but it sounds more like your cat has epilepsy. It's possible your cat has had fits that you haven't been around to see. And yes, cats (and dogs) get it. Good news is that it is treatable - just as in humans. Your vet should be able to diagnose it quite quickly.
As far as retarded goes, I had a kitten I rescued from a storm water drain. I saw her lying in the gutter covered in mud (and poop). She had mud in her ears, eyes, nose and throat. I cleaned (and warmed) her up in the handbasin and took her to the vet. He told me she had suffered oxygen starvation and should be put down because she'd suffered brain damage. I refused and took her home. A week later the name "Scatty Cat" seemed to stick. She was definitely retarded but mostly behaved like a normal kitten. She was quite difficult to train on the litter box but she eventually got the idea. Sadly she died last year at 14 years.

Have you had her checked by a vet yet?
Cats can have just about everything humans can and then some. But much of it is treatable these days (like if she would have epilepsy), but also if she has brain damage, there can be things you can do to make her life a happy and long one.
But you can only do this if it is properly diagnosed, if she is having fits go see the doctor.

The politically correct term is mentally challenged. Only Internet Trolls can be retarded.
But, yes, cats can be mentally challenged. The cat could also have an inner ear issue.

My cat is retarded and wiggles around like she is drunk. She falls over all the time. She was born with part of her brain missing and an open pallet. She is a senior now.

Cats are mainly "retarded" when they come from a mom that had sex with her son.
