Need a digital converter for TV?

I wanted to watch a TV show but when I turned on my TV, I received a message saying that the channel is no longer available and that to watch it, I would have to contact Comcast and get a Digital Converter. I do not want to contact Comcast and shell out how much a Digital Converter would be. Is there any kind of Digital Converter that would be just as useful?

Update:

Please note, I have a Magnavox 32 inch HD TV.

No, you can only use an adapter from Comcast.

If you are legitimately accessing Comcast TV, you will have no problem dealing with them to get the box you need.

If you are not, then stop getting TV that way and subscribe to TV, or get an antenna and converter box for that.

Yeah for older television known as analog tv, you can just purchase a digital converter box (about $40.00) which lets you get free local channels for free without any monthly fees. You can buy a digital converter box at Best Buy, or Target.

If you want more channels and programming then you can subscribe to Comcast cable services but you will be charged each month.
