6 months pregnant and leg cramps?

I am 6 monrhs pregnant and have been getting really bad cramps in my calves ankles and feet. I get them at all different times of the day but the worst of them are happening at night. I have never had this happen in my first two pregnancies. I am doing general stretches with my legs and feet but its not helping. Is there any thing else i can try?

Update:

I cant eat bananas, i am allergic to them. I do elevate my legs when i am resting. I have had my husband rub my legs to see if that helps. What other foods have potasium? I would like to stay away ftom extra supplements as much as possible.

Make sure you are getting plenty of water. You can try a few ounces of gatorade each day to help replenish the electrolites. Also having someone give massages is helpful. Try elevating you legs in bed at night and when you sit. If none of this works ask your doctor if there is anything else you can do. I get them from fibromyalgia but none of my medical treatments are safe during pregnancy. I use the methods I have suggested to help cope during pregnancy.

Leg cramps in pregnancy are common. It's from a potassium deficiency. Eat more bananas or take a potassium supplement.

    Here's a list of high-potassium foods. http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/food/potassium-foo...

Leg cramps!! I got them ALL THE TIME when I was pregnant! And only at night. To make them go away, put your leg straight and lift your foot. Like you would if you were standing on your heels. Its hard but it goes away as soon as you do it! Good luck(:

When you feel a cramp coming on or get one straighten your legs and point your toes towards your head. It will stop the cramp.
