Here is a sample of factlets from surveys and studies conducted in the past twenty years.

Fifty percent believe that the earth has been visited by UFOs; and oddly 70 percent believed that the U.S. government is covering up the presence of space aliens on earth.
Forty percent did not know whom the U.S. fought in World War II.
Forty percent could not locate Japan on a world map.

It may be germane to note that those students would now all be of voting age. The first lot of stats quoted were the results of surveys taken by people over 18.

BQ: Does a nation which boasts stats like this have any real moral authority to be telling other countries that they ought to re-organise their social, political and economic policies to fall into line with what the USA practices at home?

Frightening and SAD. And not surprised.
But I believe it. I also want to put in the disclaimer that they did *not* poll my family or the outcome would've been different :)
BA: No, it doesn't...but then, our government is run by multinational corporations who do *not* have the interests of the citizens of the US at heart.

Actually, I find them suspicious. Mike Royko once wrote a column in Chicago that advised people when interviewed by pollsters to lie. I have since found that pulling pollsters legs is an art-form unto itself.

Yep. Americans are idiots. What's your point?
I still would advise against pissssing America off - even when the liberals are in charge.

Sad isn't it? The US system of education is to blame. Everyone gets high grades no matter what. Everything is dumbed down for the lowest level of intelligence.

Generations home schooling and inbreeding. How do you think we got the tea party.

Any country that votes someone like Bush in for second term would have to believe in angels and UFO's.

Of course. The USAs liberals have dumbed down our schools bigtime, because of stupid minorities. Diversity has destroyed us. It'll get worse and worse as things move on. Race is real. Differences in IQ are real. There is absolute proof of this. Google twins study.
We have the highest incarc rate outta FIRST WORLD countries, not all countries, because we have the most blacks - and blacks are criminals.
And now, tx cons want to get rid of critical thinking!
Source(s): Racist libertarian, educated and proud. Racist people arent racist because theyre ignorant. Theyre racist because they're not. - 9 years ago
I'd still rather be here in the USA than be with you all in Australia paying carbon-taxes and taking it up the butt from the new world order... America is falling, but the great land of Australia has already been seized...
My advice, why don't you worry more about getting the criminals at the UN out of your country before you start worrying about what America is doing...
