Serious question: bowel movement issues?
I'm 13 weeks pregnant and I've had some issues moving my bowels and I know that can be an issue. However, tonight, I've been on the toilet for 1 1/2 hour and I need to move my bowels but I cannot. It is extremely painful and nothing is happening. If I stand up, I feel like I'm going to have an accident. Please help.

You have two problems, getting your bowels moving now, and keeping things moving in the future.
For the first, I'd try drinking lots of hot tea (if the drug stores are closed where you are), if they are open, go and buy some Colace which is a stool softener, take it tonight with lots of liquid and you should see some action tomorrow morning.
For the second problem, you need to eat more high fibre foods, and drink more liquid - you can't just do one or the other, you have to do both - eat whole grain breads and pasta, brown rice, lean meats and fish and chicken, fresh vegetables (raw and cooked) fresh fruits (apples, oranges, grapes, plums, peaches, pears, pineapple), a little dairy (milk, cheese, yogurt).
Good luck!

You can try Colace. It's over the counter and can be purchased at any pharmacy or walmart. It's a bit on the expensive side if you don't get the off brand but it's safe to take during pregnancy. My doctor told me to take it with my first. If possible, have someone go pick you up some and lay down for a nap while waiting for it to kick in. If it doesn't work you may need an enema. When I was pregnant with my first my doctor told me i needed one but thankfully I was able to go that night. Those can also be purchased over the counter so you won't have to go to the doctor to get it. Hope I helped and I hope you feel better soon. I know how painful that can be. Congrats on your pregnancy though!! :D

deliver some one to the keep to get you a enema and or some stool softener. in case you have not had a bowel flow in 2 weeks, you quite ought to work out a doctor! this may well be a hallmark of a severe concern!

P food help (pears, peaches, prunes). Exercise is what gets things moving the best though. A 10-15 minute walk around the block will usually help constipation.

I was having major problems up until my 9th week...then I quit drinking anything but juice, Gatorade, milk, or water. I bought a box of Raisin Bran Crunch (yummmmmmy) and some granola bars. Now I am as regular as can be! Drink lots of fluids and eat at least one meal with a high-fiber food and hopefully it will help! :)

Try to take a stool softener. Being constipated is normal during pregnancy.
