I think only the most simple-minded liberals engage in class envy. You are also incorrect to assume that liberals are poor and conservatives are rich, that is not the case. I think I represent many liberals in that I am upper middle class and have done pretty well. The problem is (and others, including Time magazine agree with me) that wealth inequality is killing or country, and thanks to the conservative mumbo-jumbo about "trickle down" and no taxes for the wealthy and little government regulation, the problem is getting worse. Wealth shift in the past 20 years has been more than in any other previous period. That problem needs to be addressed or it will eventually be the 1% and the rest of us will be slaves.

Envying the shiny shoe boys that crashed the economy of the 95% of us....including the guy who posted this question? That's interesting. Meanwhile the banks and other massive corporations are making more money then anytime in history. Their 'economy' is rolling in dough.

I suppose you could make the case that some people would 'envy' the sons of #$%^&es who managed to get on the big money side of this equation. But more likely there are far more people who just weren't raised to envy people involved in sleazy actions....even if they do make out like the bandits they are.
