Why isn't Peachy Paterno ice cream at Penn State being re-named/banned?

Why don't they re-name it something else...Seems Paterno is a scandalous person and should not be glorified. They took the statue down-why not erase his name on this ice cream?

I've never heard of Peachy Paterno ice cream, but it sounds like a specialty of a local ice cream shop near Pennsylvania State. That's a private business and it's up to them what they serve as long as customers are buying it. If they get too many complaints, they'll take it off the menu. But Joe Paterno was the coach at Penn State for many years and a beloved figure or maybe people just like the peach flavor. It looks like the flavor is staying unless they decide to take it off.

If you feel this strongly about it, you could organize a writing campaign complaining about the flavor. If none of your signers are customers , I'm not sure they'll pay any attention but you can try. This is not something for government to get involved in.

The Freeh report isn't all inclusive. That report is not the final word, the final chapter or the Gospel. It is nothing more than a revelation of what is believed to be facts by the authors of this report. Just like a Police Officers affidavit of probable cause, this Freeh report should fall under the same scutiny as that Officers affidavit. It has not. It's been accepted as Gospel, even though defense lawyers have not had the opportunity to challege this document in a court of law, by putting the authors of it on the witness stand for cross examination. No one has been arrested as a direct result of this document. Why?

Does it matter? It's the Creamery's own ice cream. It's up to them, not up to the public. Besides, changing the name of an ice cream flavor won't prevent another child from being abused. There are a lot of better things for people to be putting their time and effort into thinking about.

Why does everyone forget Paterno's 60 years of service and concentrate on the sex scandal? He told his superiors and it was them that failed to pursue prosecution. Get off this guy's back. If those that condemn him did one third as much good as he has done this would be a better place for all.
