Why is the media over blowing the Colorado mass shooting?

Is anyone else annoyed that they continue to show their sad emotional segments of some of the victims, like that Jessica girl who was here in my city Toronto last month? They won't stop talking about her. I personally have a hard time provoking emotions like pity, empathy and sadness - it does happen.. but when the media is overexposing these stories like they have been doing with the "massacre" in Aurora, I can't help but roll my eyes. I feel bad the families have to mourn but what does the media have to shove it down our throats? We get it. They are dead.

Update:

Excuse me, maybe you should kindly go back to school instead of feeding into pop psychology. I am not capable of being a psychopath. Educate yourself before you throw big words you have no real understanding with.

The media bumps up their ratings with tragedies. If life is happy and all is well and people are going on about their lives there is no need for follow up. They can milk a tragedy for weeks, then follow up on victims recovery, criminal trials, and anniversaries for years. Heck, they can work up a good two weeks worth of stories on the death of a celebrity.

To answer your question, the only thing that annoys me more than listening to them exploit a tragedy like a mass shooting is to listen to them sensationalize someone's untimely death with rumors, exaggeration, and insinuations.

Did the information comments point out if he's a vegetarian vs. meat-eater? Did they report his determination of Firefox or Chrome? Did the information point out if he won a U.S. federal government pupil own loan? Did they detect him as the two (a) professional-Ross or (b) professional-Rachel on the full 'on-a-injury' subject? there are various undemanding how you may divide and categorise somebody. the information companies seem to think of race and intercourse are significant to report. They %. and choose what to report because of the fact they won't be able to bodily report each and every final component of each and every tale. to boot, maximum newshounds are professional-Rachel.

A better question is why do people hate the media so much instead of hating their own peers who make the media what they are?

TV shows get ratings, and if nobody is watching something on TV then that show gets canceled. The media channels would get canceled if people weren't watching them. So they continue to talk about these things because your own peers in society, your neighbors, the people in line in front of you at the grocery store, the clerk at the bank counter, these people continue to turn on their TV's and watch it. So do you, that's why you know what the media is doing and I don't. I wasn't aware of that problem until you just said it because I don't own a TV and don't watch that garbage.

So is the media really to blame here for supplying what the people want? Or is it the people in everyday society you should really be hating, including yourself because you must have watched it for a long time to establish that they were talking about it for a long time, so you just gave them ratings, your view is like a vote for their channel telling them to keep showing that because you're watching and tuning in.

Shock Factor .. It is Terribly Sad and Should Have Never Happened , But it's Starting to Get Kinda Depressing if You Ask Me .. They Need to Give Their Families a Chance to Mourn Instead of Shoving it in Their Faces Everytime They Turn on The TV !

Good, we're learning. Maybe we'll stop watching crazy TV. It rots the brain. You can get much more useful information on any issue on the internet. I think the idea is that they want to catch as many people as possible who may only give them a few minutes. They don't go into any real detail. That takes too much work. The internet has more staff, us, to get all different perspective and first hand information.

Because they're doing their patriotic duty of keeping the pain alive for as long as possible

One we the People begin to accept sheer madness as the norm -as you obviously have -then more and incidents will happen and less and less will be done about them

according to obama's logic, the government should get credit for the colorado shooting, since, the shooter bought ammunition through the government created internet, drove to the theatre on government built roads, and the theatre was using power supplied by government provided power lines.

People get shot everyday in chicago, you don't hear a word from any media outlet about that. Let it happen in a Western State that is perceived as a "red" state, you won't hear the end of it.
