Why does everyone have to be so rude on the internet?

Question

I know that not being face-to-face with each other means that it's easy to be mean. I've fallen into the trap myself. But I'm dead sick of it. Why can't people just be respectful of each other? Is it really so impossible? Do people really lack the courtesy to realize that human beings with feelings type things? Being able to write online means that you have time to consider and edit what you are saying...which means that there is no excuse for being rude. 

I'd almost like to stop using the internet altogether, but in this day and age, that is fully impossible. The rudeness is something I have to live with. But I can't escape the feeling that as a society, we're going in a disturbing direction by depriving ourselves of face-to-face contact. Faces and body language give us subtle visual cues that allow us to interpret the subtexts. When this is taken away, a great deal of communication feels lost. 

Anyone have any thoughts? And no trolling, PLEASE. On a question like this, it will be pathetically obvious...and yes, I will report abuse if I feel so inclined.

ive never been bothered by ppl being mean on the internet. who cares??

if it does bother u though, then maybe you should stop using the internet, or better yet, stop using sites that allow ppl to talk back and forth, like this one. No point in being involved if it irritates you.

This is a pointless question.
It will achieve nothing except to relieve you of whateve stressful emotion you have about the situation.

This is also, probably the ten billionth time this exact question has been asked.

My question to you is.
If the last 9 hundred billion other people before you could not achieve anything by posting the same question. What makes you think you will change anything or get the result you want.

Do you think  you will be the the messiah who will change the world in terms of manners in internet traffic. Good luck with that.

No doubt there are a select few human beings in this world who accomplish miracle things.  Whether it be inventing the light bulb, or discovering some cure for a disease. Do you think your the miracle who will change attitudes of people who use the internet .

Do you accept this is a simple rant that you have posted to vent your frustration , rather than actually wanting to achieve anything in that regard. A self serving excercise so you can rationalise and understand the irrational rudeness of people on the internet.
Because if you attempt to make sense of what people say on the internet. You will go insane. 
Dont bother...........
Just ignore the people you dont like.

Edit: What did i hope to accomplish by criticising you for asking this question?
Quite simply to help you realise that your rant was self serving rather than it having any effect on the internet at all.

Dude, People now a days are big *******. They release anger or whatever their feeling in the internet. It's just human kind to always be right and when someone wants to be right then they feel like they are forced to use vulgar language. Everyone can be a dick at times but you just have to deal with it, Be the bigger person
