How much difference is a 16g piercing and a 18g piercing?
I have a Monroe piercing and I lost the stud, and I have been browsing on line looking for a 18g piercing, but I can only find 16g. So if I were to buy the 16g (which I understand is bigger) would it be way too big, or can I stretch it without it being too painful? About how much difference is there between the 16g and the 18g? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

There is only a 1mm or less difference between 16g and 18g, the 16g wouldn't be enough of a difference to royally mess up your piercing. There will be a small amount of pain, but it's nothing worth freaking out about.

The "hollow" contained in the ball with be too enormous to in good structure it on the 18 gauge flatback (to procure pierced with a barbel that has a flat end excellent? If no longer I strongly urge you to flow to a respected piercer and get that replaced earlier you've enamel or gum erosion). you are able to in good structure a 16 gauge in there, yet you ought to stretch it up a length (with a taper *taper is type of a needle yet no longer sharp the end is eighteen gauge and slowly is going up a gauge and on the suited it really is a 16 gauge*), some thing else will reason unnecessary trauma to the exterior causing further complications like extreme scarring. @Angel- I quite propose her to attend the completed 3 months earlier strechthing up because it can reason extreme scarring or a blowout, in spite of the actual undeniable reality that uncommon in circumstances like those, scar tissue is amazingly unpredictable and could act up. (It regularly takes 3 months for a piericng to absolutely heal notwithstanding in the adventure that they provide the impact of being healed, they heal from the exterior in).

I have been stretching my ears, i honestly didn't notice any difference between an 18 and a 16. But everyone is different. Also ear lobes might be stretchier than lips.
