Why do cons accuse democrats of promoting socialism...?
...when they’re actually promoting something else, just as bad?
Democrat President Wilson (1913-1918) said, “You are not here merely to make a living. You are here to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, and with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world. You impoverish yourself if you forget this errand.” He may have been the first democrat to appreciate the potential use of multiculturalism (“If it’s white or American, trash it!”) in deconstructing the Constitution, saying, “No nation is fit to sit in judgment upon any other nation.” Obama put it this way (without using a teleprompter!): "Every nation is exceptional in its own way."
Democrat President Roosevelt (1933-1945) “let it all hang out” in his speech before Congress on January 11, 1944:
“We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights...” which included:
-The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation
-The right of every family to a decent home
-The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health
-The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment.
Democrat President Johnson’s Great Society became the largest redistribution of wealth program in our history. Obama has thrust national healthcare upon us, the hallmark of all socialist and welfare states.
25 years ago none of the above was common knowledge. It is only because of more honest, unbiased reporting on the Internet, talk radio and Fox News (all non-existent 25 years ago!) that today we know that the democrat party has been gradually changing America into a European style welfare state. Our public “education” system, universities, Hollywood and the mainstream media has championed that change as zealously as Obama, and they’ve succeeded beyond their wildest dreams, winning the support of the vast majority of democrats:
-2/4/10 Gallup poll: 61% of liberals have a positive view of socialism.
-6/2/11 Gallup poll: 71% of democrats favor re-distributing wealth.
-Now they have national health care, the foundation of all welfare and socialist states.

Democrats believe they can engineer social change; However, I strongly believe in Adam Smith's "invisible hand" in a free, market-based society. You can't separate government and economics as democrats believe. Each "tinkering" has consequences. Welfare has reaped corruption, abuse, apathy and above all, has artificially increased the amount of people living at or below the poverty (on paper). Many have discovered or employed "other means" to get more money - in addition to welfare. I don't fault people that accept "free" money; human nature is the cousin of economics.
When they talk about the "rights" mentioned above, it means everyone has the right to "earn" these things; the government isn't obligated to "provide" these at government expense. Government assistance means taxes, coming from "working" citizens. The Constitution is clear on what the US government is supposed to do with tax money.
The unpredictable consequence I mentioned is that the engineered welfare program has unnaturally increased the population of welfare recipients. If economic forces were allowed to work naturally, and people did not receive public assistance, the middle class would grow, the lower class would shrink.
Many girls have children to receive state/federal benefits. When my daughter was in high school, many young girls didn't fully focus on school, they attended school as a social event. As they approached graduation (or even before) they purposely became pregnant, and then applied for state benefits. Why is the government responsible for a personal decision to get pregnant; if I decide to buy a boat, the government isn't going to give me money for the gas.
Welfare has become a career for many families. These children are raised in an environment, many without a male role model, and they perpetuate what they have learned. The democratic party has become the party of benefits and entitlements. They vilify those who, through the American spirit and vast opportunities, have become financially successful. Yet, these same villains are called upon, in the form of taxes, to support those without income.
I support providing help for people who, THROUGH NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN, need help. Last Thursday I believe, Obama signed an executive order providing special assistance to African-Americans for educational opportunities. After 200 years, the black population should have assimilated into society. After all, we now have a black president. It is the sub-culture many blacks have adopted that prevents them from seizing opportunities and forego the right to earn a decent living. I'm not prejudice, but I won't avoid something that I believe to be true. The term "politically correct" prevents identifying real problems. If one is unwilling to honestly define the problem, it's impossible to develop a solution.
The Democratic party believes in cradle-to-grave care for those living at the poverty level (on paper). Where's the incentive for people to exercise their right to "earn" a livelihood? As the rolls of welfare recipients grow, how do we support this engineered high population? We spend billions of dollars on public benefits, yet the defense budget (a core federal government Constitutional responsibility) is constantly attacked. Democrats believe in large governments to exercise complete control over the masses. The Republican party believes if you leave people alone, get government out of people's lives, they will prosper through the forces of economics. They say the Republican party favors the rich, which is inaccurate. They favor the forces of economics. Sadly, in any given population, there will be poor people. Rather than give them "free" money, ensure they have the opportunities to exercise their right to earn for themselves. Those that choose not to work should not be rewarded. Quit rewarding women who make personal choices they cannot financially support. Personal choice; another corner-stone of economics. Government at its best, should ensure opportunities for people to pursue their goals; they should work to remove obstacles, not create them. If girls did not receive money for having children, they would quit having children, especially at a time when they should be exploring their own goals and exercising their right to pursue work, further education, etc.
Every individual should have the RIGHT to life, liberty and the PURSUIT of happiness. This goes hand-in-hand with every person's rights to achieve all of this through their own, responsible actions to provide for themselves and their families. If we had access to Obama's documents of former times, I believe we would discover a person who detests the last 300 years of white, western domination over the planet. I believe he is striving to elevate minorities through his programs and doesn't concentrate on ALL of America.

This is BAD!?!? Any republican wanting to get elected would say the same thing. He pretty much stated the obvious goals any politician would at least portray....and you call this evil?!? Look at what your saying next time.
Oh and by the way, here's some people in the GOP wanting to REPEAL the 17th amendment: http://articles.philly.com/2012-08-16/news/3321737...

I just go by the guy who wrote the Constitution:
"The policy of the American government is to leave their citizens free, neither restraining nor aiding them in their pursuits. "
"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."
"No man has a natural right to commit aggression on the equal rights of another, and this is all from which the laws ought to restrain him"
Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826)

Big problem with your socialism thing. It takes away individual freedom and liberty that our Constitution guarantees.

So democrats believe in all humans being treated fairly and this is a bad thing?
Do you lack any sense of morality at all?
- Anonymous9 years ago
I don't I accuse liberals of it, because most of them openly promote it themselves. You are mistaken in assuming my reference to liberals, applies to all Democrats.
